guys so in the past week we crossed 6.5
million subscribers which is just
bonkers so thank you very much now I
know you’re away last week so we wanted
to discuss some of the feedback that we
got from the what’s happenin Hollywood
pilot yeah I personally thought it was
great it’s funny because back in two
thousand six actually wrote and hosted a
fake news Weekend Update style show so I
know how hard it is to pull that off
Jeremy came up to me last week he was
like can I send you a link i was like
wow sex tape too much information and
basically i loaded it up and I was like
wow I didn’t even know you guys were
working on this I really liked it i
thought the material was pretty good I
thought the delivery was fantastic funny
cuz in the comments 1 most people liked
it one of the guys one of the mojo
holics was like oh my god you could tell
they were put up to this they didn’t
want to do it and I was like not really
they did it all by themselves so no it
was pretty darn entertaining yeah what
did you yeah when I watched it I was
like I am out of a job no no no I I
think what’s really important to put
this into context is while on YouTube
most of the time when you subscribe to a
channel you’re really subscribing to a
show and following the show watch module
for better or worse has always been a
channel like a network so there’s lots
of shows although the main show
admittedly is like the top ten surgeries
with mainly music and video games and
movies but there’s a lot of shows and I
think you know I chatted with Adrienne
and and Jeremy and I think we one thing
we kind of concluded was it’s going to
be a lot of work to pull that off so we
are looking for writers who are good at
comedy scripted entertainment we’re
working on a lot of different shows so
if you’re interested in that stuff email
us and to it’s the initiative that I
personally really appreciate it i was at
a conference there was lots of
interesting people jay leno was just
saying how when he was hosting the
Tonight Show he had an open-door policy
when anyone could come in and you know
come up with the jokes and you know kind
of take the lead and that was exactly
what the guys did so i was very very
proud yeah so ultimately I think you’re
going to see an iteration of that
comeback
back down the road because a few people
said it there are a few shows like that
on youtube so if we’re going to do it we
got to keep it in the watch multiple
voice and kind of like strike the right
balance right so some other updates are
Matt we had mad on the show last week so
how did that go so Matt’s been working
with us on for almost a year again I
think some of the motor holics forget
how many people are involved in the
making of our videos and Matt’s going to
be doing some vo because I mean you and
Dan do a great job but we need more
people to do the O’s if we’re going to
do six clips seven clips 25 clips per
day I’m kidding you know it’s kind of
funny that we took the time and care to
introduce Matt the way we did and then
we just kind of threw Adrian and Jeremy
into the pool but we wanted to get the
feedback right away from the the what’s
happening Hollywood which is very
helpful I thought Matt and you had a
great chemistry and you’ll be seeing
more many more hosts as many more
watchmojo team members next week we’ll
have Angela on who’s been producing
researching and coordinating watch bones
on news & topics which are both doing

lot of movie critics and experts and the
staff here at the company i get a sense
that most of the movies that are
nominated for an Oscar are not as
popular or as widely seen as in previous
years the general consensus is that you
know they’re a bit more obscure so we’ll
see you know how that manifests itself
right um one thing I’m working on I know
you’re working on something too but I
want to give people is sure people’s
feedback is so it’s not a specific
suggestion it’s more possible series so
we’ve done you produce each year end of
your recap so top events of 2013 out you
usually cover serious or light-hearted
so what we’ve kind of moved towards is
the core top 10 are serious news stories
and like the big events that we’re
making headlines and that year and then
at the beginning we do like a fun
montage of like
important songs and pop-culture stories
but not like the headings planes
crashing disease malaria that we leave
that Boko Haram um yeah yeah that was
the top 10 basically last year and then
at the end we do the in memoriam so
those are the people who passed away and
we ended on a very bummy note but anyway
that’s how we do those so since we have
let’s say from 2010 each years till 2014
we’re kind of sitting on the fence
because we’re gonna start doing you know
it’s 2015 so we’re gonna do like top 10
songs top 10 movies of nineteen
eighty-five ninety five and 2005 I don’t
know why you’re laughing back to the
future back to the future of course so
we’re gonna do that but we’re thinking
should we actually go crazy and do every
year like top ten events of 1986 ja
let’s go crazy I don’t believe you yeah
exactly know so what we want to know
from you is and you can chime in there’s
not a poll to say yea or nay but in the
comments say should we just do
anniversary so 85 95 2005 of movies and
songs or do you also want each year’s

congratulations to a mere also known as
Aquarius Prince and mr. mojo also known
as futurama lover so technically mr.
mojo was the first one I think who got
both right and answered what we’re
looking for but then amiri we didn’t
want to screw him out on a technicality
because he pointed out that Matt’s was
in the background of a blooper so we’re
like we’ll give it to you then he did

of vantage point and we had to this
debate do we show the covers or not i
think the new york times when explaining
why they would not show the covers kind
of fumbled it because they weren’t
inconsistent they had shown previously
other shot of the adult covers of jewish
and christian religious figures that
were probably just as offensive to
christians and jews i guess but i think
the guardian did a really good job of
saying look we support chatelier’s bills
freedom of press and expression to do
this but they are a satirical
publication whose intent is to offend
and shock and we at the Guardian that’s
not our intent and that’s before even
reading that was kind of my thinking I’m
all like I’m probably the biggest
libertarian out there saying do whatever
the hell you want but i also think
realistically in practice ones liberty
ends one another person’s begins so to
speak I’m listen you could believe in
religion whatever i’m personally
agnostic atheist I mean I respect people

that look if there’s a billion people of
which even a tiny percentage would be
offended by that hey we don’t have to

say what sexual harassment when an ugly
guy wants to get some you know and
that’s the thing so what’s freedom of
expression just when you agree with what
the guy saying otherwise you should shut
up I remember after nine eleven you know
I was I was in my early 20s obviously a
shocking thing and Bill Maher had a show
called politically incorrect so it’s a
show called politically incorrect what
did Bill Maher say he said something
that was politically incorrect he lost
his show which just goes to show what a
hypocritical world we live in so for me

if some people are offended by something
we always take that into consideration
and two we thought there was a big herd
mentality thing trend going on in the
media we’re very independent we’re not
back by any big corporate company
there’s no puppet strings you know

cool well Katy Perry is performing at
the Super Bowl which is probably the
only reason I will tune in am so
actually I never tuned in the Super Bowl
that’s whatever weird i can think of two
reasons to tune in when Katy Perry is
performing with the halftime show I’m
out no I mean I also the Patriots those
are the two reasons anyway we’re doing
top tense katy perry songs and i’m
looking forward to seeing how that does
because it’s not really normally in our
wheelhouse yes well you know what the
funny thing is um those do really well
like I think you know we forget that
there’s always like a hardcore you know
like the head bangers and I love heavy
metal and hard rock that are gonna chime
in when we do a general top ten lists
that are like where’s the heavy metal
stuff but the truth is don’t those don’t
do as well as when you do straight up
Lady Gaga or Katy Perry I think Katy
Perry’s gonna do very well although we
expect and it’s all good that a lot of
your mantra holics are gonna say what
who’s next one direction Justin Bieber
and no and no we do draw the line
somewhere super bowl predictions listen
the Seahawks fantastic team I mean their
quarterback russell wilson is insanely
talented have a great you know defense
and what thought I do think though that
Tom Brady won a few Super Bowls early on
in his career and he’s been back and he
hasn’t I think this year with the whole
deflategate he’s such a clutch performer
I think this year the Patriots are like
we’re going to show the world enough’s
enough and they’re gonna pull it off and
the only interesting dynamic is is that
his age usually that’s one then right
after winning I’m going to Disney World
and oh I’m retiring but he’s in the best
shape of his life so I don’t think he’s
gonna retire but I do think the pats are

being a Montreal resident is even
we love the Canadians and thereby we
must hate the Bruns though I do respect
the runes I love Boston sports

tuesday is old wives tale which i think

demanding and we love it with the the
footage that when the footage is not
perfectly matches oh it is we know this
you know that yeah you guys do a great
job I must say I’m always a rather
impressed and then thursday is
celebrities who went broke all of those
like celeb stuff like falls from grace
and all that do really really well you
know what else does really well all the
internet means you know news reporter
fails so we’ll do a lot more of those
cool well Katy Perry is performing at
the Super Bowl which is probably the
only reason I will tune in am so
actually I never tuned in the Super Bowl
that’s whatever weird i can think of two
reasons to tune in when Katy Perry is
performing with the halftime show I’m
out no I mean I also the Patriots those
are the two reasons anyway we’re doing
top tense katy perry songs and i’m
looking forward to seeing how that does
because it’s not really normally in our
wheelhouse yes well you know what the
funny thing is um those do really well
like I think you know we forget that
there’s always like a hardcore you know
like the head bangers and I love heavy
metal and hard rock that are gonna chime
in when we do a general top ten lists
that are like where’s the heavy metal
stuff but the truth is don’t those don’t
do as well as when you do straight up
Lady Gaga or Katy Perry I think Katy
Perry’s gonna do very well although we
expect and it’s all good that a lot of
your mantra holics are gonna say what
who’s next one direction Justin Bieber
and no and no we do draw the line
somewhere super bowl predictions listen
the Seahawks fantastic team I mean their
quarterback russell wilson is insanely
talented have a great you know defense
and what thought I do think though that
Tom Brady won a few Super Bowls early on
in his career and he’s been back and he
hasn’t I think this year with the whole
deflategate he’s such a clutch performer
I think this year the Patriots are like
we’re going to show the world enough’s
enough and they’re gonna pull it off and
the only interesting dynamic is is that
his age usually that’s one then right
after winning I’m going to Disney World
and oh I’m retiring but he’s in the best
shape of his life so I don’t think he’s
gonna retire but I do think the pats are
gonna you know the funny thing about
being a Montreal resident is even
we love the Canadians and thereby we
must hate the Bruns though I do respect
the runes I love Boston sports
franchises otherwise so hopefully the
Seahawk fans are not unsub being as I’m
saying that I mean they could pull it
off but I think the pats are going
