indira gandhi was one of india’s most
strongest political leaders she is born
in 1917 to india’s prime minister at the
time who was jawahar lal nehru and she’s
known as changing in his history bill
for the good and the bad gandhi was 17
years old when her mother passed away in
1934 she went to college and Oxford and
during her years in Europe and the UK
she meant for Rosie Gandhi then married
him in 1942 just before the beginning of
the quit india movement which was the
last major national revolt started by
mahatma gandhi and the congress party
Indira and feroze were both involved in
this movement but they were arrested and
detained for several months they had two
sons between the years of 19 44 and 46
now after India declare their
independence Indira’s father decides to
step down from his governing obligations
and Indira took over by managing her
father’s official residence and they
went on several foreign trips together
indira gandhi was Prime Minister for 11
years up until 1977 but when 1973 came
around there were some problems in Delhi
and all over North India there were many
demonstrations later on in 1977 she
decides to call for new elections
because she really thought she could win
but she didn’t realize that many new
coalition’s by different political
parties had been forms so her Congress
party ended up losing terribly a poll
however three years later she did become
Prime Minister again which was the same
year when her
Sanjay was killed in the airplane crash
