nowadays you don’t have to sacrifice
style nor fashion to be environmentally
conscious hi I’m Bonnie simulator with
watchmojo.com and today we’re gonna
learn about an eco-friendly clothing
line that is all about being green
basically the line started for me out of
a desire to align aesthetics and also at
the environment so basically I don’t
necessarily view myself as a fashion
designer I really view myself as an echo
designer who is trying to detour some
fabrics that would usually go into
landfills and to make some really great
fashion with it those fabrics a lot of
it have a lot of life left into them and
it’s really it’s really kind of crazy
that a lot of them go into landfills and
in terms of numbers fabric is about the
third most prevalent matter that you
find in landfills there’s and there’s
way too much of it because a lot of the
big designers actually make the clothes
for a very short lifespan so basically
it’s made to not last which which is
pretty tragic for the environment why
kind of fabrics and materials so you use
for you the line well for the t-shirts I
basically use vintage t-shirts it’s a
lot more complicated to deal with a
recycled fashion because the time that
you need to go and source the fabrics
you know go shopping for them and find
them and make sure that they’re in that
in good condition they’re not too frayed
and stuff like that and then you I have
a whole process where I sanitize them
and rewash them and then we match them
together and then there’s a sewing and
then there’s the printing so it’s
there’s like about three more steps in
eco-fashion then you would have an
irregular fashion now let’s talk about
my favorite item which is a shirt that
you’re wearing right now which i think
is your most popular item
that I heart Kyoto I’m a graphic
designer by trade so and that i love I
heart New York is absolutely like a
classic logo that every young designer
learns about and so for me it was a way
of paying homage to this amazing
designer Milton Glaser and also to to do
something I call it an idea virus to use
something that people already know have
in their heads and to promote the Kyoto
Accord it’s wearing a positive message
it’s not I’m against this I’m against
that I’m for this I’m for the
environment I’m for the Kyoto Accord so
it’s a very positive loving message that
you’re sending out to your friends to
your entourage and also to the
government hopefully I think so anything
that you could be fashionable you to be
an eco fashionista you know and
hopefully green is going to become the
new color of fashion
