I Fight Dragons Talks Nintendo, ‘Back to the Future’

to quote them directly this band is
boldly questing forward on a sonic
adventure toward total world domination
pom pom pom pom pom pom pom pom pom hi
I’m Rebecca Braden and welcome to
watchmojo.com we got the chance to check
out warp tour or we spoke with i Fight
Dragons about their favorite video games
and their cover songs how do you guys go
about choosing songs to cover whatever
we like yeah most uh sorry that I
grabbed this in a way that’s like oh we
could totally I have to do this out but
it’s like those only come along we don’t
I don’t I feel like we don’t really
search them out it’s just ya know a
thing a lot of times they come with
opportunities to like we were asked a
couple years ago to be part of an 8-bit
Weezer compilation it’s got a cute when
mostly sort of come about as as either
that or something where we were like
wouldn’t it be ridiculous if like that
some of our me Louis yeah and just he
has slammed it yeah that’s the power
makes the world go round
back to future pants yes yeah bank so
that ties into spent a full year of
college with my best friends working on
back to the future of the musical we
decided we were going to write it that
it would be an awesome idea we didn’t
get very far but it was we spent a lot
of time watching the trilogy over and
over again and like plotting out who
would get a song where and what we would
do and it was he’s since gone on to
write actual Broadway shows but not back
the future musical yet you should get
back on that yeah I agree you’ll feel
the power
I’ve taking you off track I would like
to know your favorite video games
generally I kind of go-between Final
Fantasy two through seven so I mean I
guess they’ve read numbered them based
on Japanese stuff but basically four six
and seven for me it’s mega man 2 all the
way I do have a love for specifically
NES Tetris that when I bet that’s why I
play it when I need to think and I fizz
different kind of game different kind of
game that all others got the other the
Tetra see is more of a physical because
of the limitation yeah the things you
can’t do things you can’t do it becomes
much more of a physical game yeah being
able to hit enough but until my idea
yeah my favorite game hands down if the
past couple of years has been golden tee
video go it’s an off the wall angel but
he’s not joking physical game yes
I want to know what your relationship
with Nintendo was like they were doing a
series of videos for the Nintendo 3ds to
show off you know 3d capabilities in
Nintendo video their channel and we sort
of ended up getting our foot in the door
you know they saw all these different
artists on our label at the time
Atlantic so we’re like we would love to
do a video here’s what we think of your
cool video we could do it for cheap well
you know whatever we just would love for
you is and they love their music and the
treatment so much that they fully
commissioned a video with us along with
you know b.o.b and Skrillex and the
shins and all the others like us it was
aight all these huge names in this list
and then after I tucked in there in the
bottom
they funded a 3d video that was just
outrageous adding bullet flew us out to
LA and we shot it all on the soundstage
that had a standing spaceship set you
know and it had the bridge and all these
chairs and that actually since then it
has become the most viewed video on the
Nintendo video platform
oh you say the world
well congratulations and good luck in
the future and thank you very much all
right thanks a lot
