How to Prepare your Dog for Summer.

welcome to watchmojo.com I’m Leslie and
these are my co-stars Luca and Palmer
our loyal mojo audience will recognize
plumber although he’s had his summer
haircut speaking of summer today we’re
gonna talk about preparing doggies for
summer come in the picture you okay now
you have dogs and it’s summertime what
are things that you need to be aware of
first things first dogs and heartworm
it’s very important to take your dog to
the vet on a regular basis especially in
summer because around this time spring
summer your doctor will probably tell
you to have your dog take some sort of
heartworm medication it’s preventative
it’s to make sure that nothing happens
to them over the summer something like
Sentinel for example is a good brand and
it’s a good product that you give your
dogs a few times during the summer you
give it to them once a month that’s it
and it protects them you mix it in with
their food now what’s important why I
say it’s important to talk to your vet
is because there are different sizes of
Sentinel for different dogs another
thing that’s important is you need to
keep in mind your dog’s coat now it’s
not deaf saraly good to shave a dog down
for example you’ll notice Palmer here
still has some good length to his fur
because he’s always supposed to have a
certain amount of her to protect him
having said that it’s important for him
to have a summer haircut because if you
remember him from the last segment he
had very very long hair and I don’t
think you’d like to be walking around
with a fur coat in the summer so what’s
important to do to prepare your dog for
summer take him to the groomer get him a
haircut that’s number one and number two
go see your veterinarian and ask about
heartworm medication number three you
may want to do something about fleas
there are a variety of flea products
sometimes your vet will give you a
little bit of cream to put behind the
dog’s ears and other times they’ll give
you something that’s orally ingested
some vets also will give you a specific
type of color but like I said just talk
to your veterinarian and make that
decision on your own this has been
