interested in learning how marble soap
is made hi my name is Heidi and you’re
watching watchmojo.com and today we’re
taking a look at how soap making meets
the art of home made when we’re making
soap or working with something called
studying hydroxide that’s commonly
referred to as ly or caustic soda so we
have to wear gloves and we have to wear
protection for our eyes as well I use a
face shield to protect from splashes as
well to make the solution I need to
measure my water and I need to mix that
same eye drug side which is a powder
into that water now we’re going to
measure out the oils into a bucket I’m
working on a plate large scale and I
measure my first oil this is olive oil
next oil I’m going to put in is coconut
oil now that I finished measuring the
majority of my oils I’m going to put
them in a pot to heat them up and to
melt the coconut oil so that it’s
completely liquid the next one I’m going
to read this castor oil which is a bean
now I’m going to use the same bowl to
measure my C butter while waiting for
the lye to cool down and the oils to
warm up I prepare these other
ingredients they’re going to go on the
soap this is black iron oxide which is
used for the black color in the soap
like a named dioxide is used to make
white these are the essential oils I’m
using which is a nice essential oil and
what’s floating on top is a vitamin E
and this is white clay the white clay
makes soap based more white tomorrow peg
it makes it clean either
this oil I’m now going to pour it up to
the bucket now I’m going to take the lie
it’s cooled down I’m going to put it
into the oil and we’re gonna strip
stirring at this point that I’m going to
add the white clay the next phase is for
me to see the edge of the clay in the
pigment
I’m gonna share better now at the same
time and put our central oils in I’m
going to pour more into the colors then
we’re going to split this into the two
molds so this is the fun part this is a
remar both the colors when the pour
slowly in various directions and ways
and very less than than I do before I
cover it up they take off the spatula
and I spoil the colors in four to six
weeks these two batches up will be about
112 bars of this soap
