How to Hug – The 5 Principles

hi I’m Veronica watchmojo.com until you
we have the opportunity to speak with
the author of a hugging life a practical
guide to artful hugging in your book you
talk about the five principles of
hugging what are those
hugging with respect hugging without
condition hugging with heart hugging in
the present moment and hugging with
gratitude now when I talk about the
principles of hugging I’m also not just
talking about the act of hugging I’m
talking about Cuban Connection so let’s
look at the first principle it’s very
important to respect our needs and to
respect the limits of your partner it’s
important not to impose our way of
hugging our way of loving our friendship
our way of being on somebody else but
simply to be attentive to their needs
and to offer them or satisfy their needs
the way they are ready to receive it the
second principle is without condition I
should open my arms to you
unconditionally and not have any
expectation for a return on my gesture
which takes us to hugging with heart
which is when you offer something to
somebody the intention that counts if
you take someone in your arms
hold them and breathe in and and send
them an intention of caring and kindness
want them to be happy in your in your
embrace and then we come to the fourth
principle hugging the moment truly
experience the moment why rush it oh
yeah here let’s have a hug and go no I
mean when you can take that time then
suddenly you appreciate the beauty of
life and that’s when we come to the
fifth principle which is hugging with
gratitude it’s then that you can say
thank you oh thank you for this
beautiful moment that we shared do you
have a most memorable hug yes I actually
I’d like to recount to you this this
story that it’s actually in my book
there was a group of young women all in
blue t-shirts I thought nothing you know
like a busload full I set up and I hold
my arms
and a couple of people came for hogs and
an older woman who came and I hugged her
and she came to me she said you nose he
said we’ve been watching you we’re the
Amadeus Corral my girls would like to
share their art out of respect for your
art and then I heard shuffling behind me
suddenly they started singing the Oliver
it was truly the most beautiful
experience that I had was filled with
love and compassion it was I felt like
they were giving back to me all that
loves that I was given others
