How to Create Pottery IV: Demonstration Part 2 – Shaping

so what I’m doing now I just want to
even out the walls as much as possible
and I kind of gauge the thickness of my
piece and once I have more or less the
thickness this is my start shaping your
piece and we want to shape a little pop
so what I’ll do I’m going to press the
inside of it take a little more clay so
I can pull it out and this is when you
really have to start slowing down your
wheel and it went a little wobbly it’s
ok that will fix it
so what I’m doing I’m pulling out the
bottom I have more or less the shape of
my cup picks it up so I wanted a little
longer on the bottom and you have a cup
which when it dries but there was a
milli second there and you could see the
professionalism is there was a really
second where I got scared and pet it was
gonna you all believe it hahaha
controlled it wherever I go and see this
since you were dealing with a
professional here and it’s more or less
fat and then afterwards okay I take my
sponge and if you look on the inside
there’s still a lot of liquid thinner
okay so I’m gonna take my sponge and
take the liquid out
okay and then I’m going to grab my tool
which I’ve left here this in French is
called in phonetic I don’t know what
they call on english but i guess i just
call up it’s like a metal spatula and
you want to use it to get this kind of
smooth finish so what i do i take it
let’s move it out of it as much as I can
so the piece is more or less done
