singing if you don’t know me by now
jacob Hoggard dropped out of the top
three of the Canadian Idol competition
to pursue a career with his band hi I’m
Rebecca Brayton and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re speaking
with ho guard and headley about the
reality television trend I want to talk
about ditching and the sound of money
and the song the level of irony
obviously is pretty high in that song if
you want to just talk about that a bit
there’s a lot this band’s inception was
largely based around the fact that I was
on a television show so if the song is a
bit more about contemporary social
commentary this is sort of where things
have come from even two thousand and
four five six years ago wheat is a verb
we r is a verb now like that’s like
things are changing and there’s nothing
that we can do we can go that’s crazy
but pretty soon we’re just gonna sound
like those older people that are going
puff-puffs counts when I was a day
that’s email people you know what email
in his kids
you
it’s really just kind of a social
commentary as far as what people these
days are willing are willing to do for
money or for famous the new kind of with
the mutated American dream the thing
about TV it’s it’s edited it’s scripted
some length and that’s always the tough
thing is because you’ve got to kind of
take it to what it is in TVs
entertainment value so be ready to turn
it off I guess at any point
did the Canadian Idol Experience help
you at all who worship did it was it was
a springboard for me it was it was what
started everything he was guppy what got
the ball rolling it gave me the
opportunity to actually pursue something
I had only have previously dreamed of
doing if you’d bought in me I’d like to
see then we do okay forever in blue
jeans baby nothing matters but I mean
yes coming no I’m a no yeah I I think
you’re totally awesome I was definitely
started as an amateur and having to kind
of really instantly sort of bring your
game up into it you know to a competent
level was you know it’s a lot of work
and it’s still a lot of work we’re and
by no means professionals or veterans at
this there are so many hundreds of
artists that have to achieve grade
levels of success and people that we
look up to in the music industry and and
strive to be like so I mean there’s
still such a long way to go but it was
definitely a stepping stone
