Harricana – Workshop Tour

phorus is not a fabric it’s just
something more precious and that’s why
people don’t throw it away Matias kagney
the president of Huracan is going to
take us for a tour of her workshop here
we can see that we recycle Kashmir
recycle old curtains we’re not only
recycling for we’re mixing it with other
materials here we have more furs some
foxes some inks some Persian lamb and
then we have all the smaller pieces like
the pom-poms for the hair so these are
all the leftovers and there’s a whole
wall on the other side I’m a little bit
crazy I don’t like trying away nice
things we also recycle seven to eight
thousand silk linings and the Cosa we
recycle sometimes are from the 60s the
50s and they have absolutely gorgeous
gorgeous lines with embroidery so we
make what you see up there the skirts
and the palos and we line some scarves
they made to measure is the code before
and what we’ve done with it after so
we’ve died and sheared and cut that code
to make this one and we’ve even recycled
the linings in the seven eight thousand
call to recycle the year fine pieces
that are so pretty that we don’t want to
make mittens and hats with them most of
the coats we find are really out of
fashion but some of them like that will
sell as is we often change the lining
change the buttons we might repair a
little bit but they’re very very
affordable because we didn’t have to put
as much time as the other pieces like
this this took six months to make this
looks maybe three hours
