Golf Tips – How To Hook The Ball

hi I’m PGA member Jay golden and welcome
to watchmojo.com today I’m going to talk
about how to hook a golf ball how do you
get a ball to do that many of you slice
why does it curve that way because of
the spin you put on a ball if you put
clockwise spin on the ball it’s going to
curve that way if you put
counterclockwise spin on the ball it’s
going to curve that way so the question
is for right-hand golfers how do you
spin a ball counterclockwise to make it
hook curved right to left and the answer
is whatever direction that club head is
moving the club face has to be aiming
left in relation to that direction it’s
going to put that spin on the ball
why do you slice because the club head
is moving in that direction with an open
Club face what is the easiest way for a
club face to be slightly aiming left as
it goes through the ball two things
start with the club face aiming slightly
left at address when you start your
swing when you address the ball it’s
aiming a little left number to try to
swing the club head a little out to the
right out to the right and this would
put that spin on the ball so if I start
out with the club face aiming left and
then swing out to the right that is
going to produce a hook in general it’s
easier to do if you play the ball
further back in your stance here are the
fundamentals to hit a hook for the right
hand player start out with the club face
aiming slightly to the left to play the
ball a little back in your stance and
when you swing swing out to the right
and that will hit a hook every time
