do you think that newscorp Fox yeah News
Corp NBC and Disney are they going to
force maybe hulu into a paid model
especially if advertising doesn’t pick
up as fast as they would like I think
Hulu you know is given a certain amount
of runway to go with the model that that
they have but definitely you see
competitors who don’t like that model
aren’t jumping on board so CBS for
example you won’t see CBS content on
hulu I ran a post a few weeks ago we got
a internal email sent from Quincy Smith
he’s the CEO of CBS interactive and he
was pointing to an article from a recent
panel where you know people were from
the industry were kind of digging into
hulu because they didn’t they didn’t
like the economic model right and there
there’s just all these attempts on the
part of traditional media companies
whether it’s Rupert Murdoch or Time
Warner and some of the cable partners
with their TV Everywhere initiative
which is basically if you’re already
paying subscriber to our cable system
then we’ll offer you the same video
content for free online but they want to
they want to really protect that
subscriber at the subscription revenue
and so that you see the industry
fighting the kind of the natural desires
of consumers to you know choose what
what content they want to see when they
want to see it on what devices they want
to see it I just think that the fighting
against the inevitable because
somebody’s going to offer whoever offers
more choice as the one who’s going to
win
