Eco-Friendly Designs From Mulcair

hey this is watchmojo.com i’m your host
layla and today i’m going to be talking
to Giuliana Bennett of Mulcair fashion
who turns to nature to create luxury
would you say that there are any
signature elements of this collection
aha well definitely in the first
collection I would say the sailor pants
we’re a big signature element with these
copper disc buttons you can see on these
ones and to be quarter length double
rested with the copper disks going down
about to jack those are a really big
element that were popular this is quite
a luxurious looking line it can be
described as sort of clothes for high
society who is a high society woman who
do you design your clothes you want to
make a statement but you don’t want to
look to cost to me you know or
completely be the center of attention in
a room it wants to be trendy and
fashionable in a way wearable and kind
of down to earth in the same way are
these garments handmade machine made a
mess they’re machine made in a factory
in Montreal north I wouldn’t say they’re
mass made because it’s very small
production I use an organic wool as you
can see like in this turtleneck and
organic wool jersey and then I also use
sustainable blends and fabrics like I’ve
used a silk and wool hemp hemp is a
really good fabric to use for the
environment because it’s very
sustainable it grows faster you don’t
need to use pesticides to grow it and
pesticides or a big pollutant you’ve
been described as a new mood designer I
don’t know if you know what that is do
you have any comment new mood um maybe
because the fab use our organic but the
aesthetic is an organic I mean if you
look at these clothes they don’t scream
nature they’re quite modern and sleek
they’re quite cold in aesthetic which is
unnatural do you have any favorite
garments you want to point out a ladder
top cocktail in a way because it’s so
simple but it’s so out like elegant and
classy and it looks great on a lot of
different body types would someone be
able to pull this out in 23 years
wearing it absolutely I think so for
sure so it’s not extremely trendy you
know where you could wear it one season
and then it’s completely out of fashion
that’s not really the type of clothes I
like to make thank you so much for your
time thank you
