after over a decade this power metal
band has released their first album with
a new vocalist hi I’m Rebecca Brayton

we’re speaking with dragonforce about
the power within you guys came into the
band after it had already been
established so what is it like coming
into a situation like that it’s really
cool it’s a very difficult job to be the
new singer because obviously a someday I
know I do that to be on the stage you
start doing that and yeah yeah this is
difficult job for the singer because
obviously at the previous guy had been
in the band for 10 years so when you
have to sort of fill someone’s shoes
it’s always hard to please everyone
that’s really cool I mean I went from
being in a band that was playing in
front of like 50 people and then now
it’s like you know venues like this and
bigger than that so it’s definitely
really good
for me was just like natural I mean they
love me you know and I was amazing so no
I mean it’s always at the beginnings and
a heart because you know like it’s like
first day at school when you change and
you just like arrive even though you
know no one and the ola haha inside
jokes and you’re like you left over but
now I mean it was pretty easy with these
guys but you know we’ve got the same
sort of six sense of you know so yeah
that was all right
and as Outsiders for lack of a better
word how do you think Dragon forces
music has evolved since the band started
I’m there in the last for the previous
two albums ultra beatdown and inhuman
rampage and the speed of the songs is
gonna get in more and more and the
amount of instruments and kind of you
know keyboard sounds and stuff was
getting a bit crazy but I think now with
the new album it’s kind of gone back
again to her it’s gone back to get kind
of more water raw sound more guitar
orientated and the songwriting is kind
of I don’t know I think this happens
evolved quite a lot from the previous
ones there’s a bit more room to breathe
I think with the music I told you agree
so I’m like yes that’s that yes
let’s talk about the power within what
were you guys going for on an album well
I think naturally we just shortened the
length of the song because you used to
be like really you know seven eight
twelve hundred minutes and I guess
switches that we’re just trying to like
naturally I think it’s like four or five
this time we also decided to to hear the
bass okay that comes from me I was like
I would like people to hear my
instrument there’s less what you know is
when you were recording and composing
we’re always saying like rock and roll
which means nothing really to you if I
say rock’n’roll but to us men a more
organic aspect of the music
yeah we’ve got like me tempo songs we’ve
got a coup stick an acoustic song that I
wrote for you and yeah so it’s more
diverse and I really like it like very
happy
tell me what the song cry Thunder well
quite thunder is a is like a mid-tempo
song with a kind of battle metal feel
about the whole thing you know the big
chorus and stuff
we did a video for it that’s why I’m
asking
with your video and it’s amazing us life
and you see me for four seconds that’s
alright that’s something new for the
bank is like a cell rule used to be like
real fast all the time so these ones
were technically the third act at that
back of being on the horse and I like
the young horses that’s why we did that
horses in the video yeah yeah well we
couldn’t fold them it’s very expensive
these days to get a horse no no it’s
completely random we played that song
live with mark I’ve seen the first shows
but before the album was released we did
some shows with Iron Maiden John Whitman
and Belfast in London and we play that
song life and life sorry and the
response from the crowd was good so came
