series games along with trivia about the
games themselves if you should acquire

original names Dark Souls

Dark Souls just kind of rolls off the
tongue doesn’t it well we’ve been saying
that name for years now so it’s hard to
imagine this series being called
something else but before the title of
Dark Souls came to be there were a bunch
of other candidates that work can to due
to various reasons with a working title
of project dark the first planned
official title was dark race but that
was changed for reasons the second title
was Dark Lord but there were trademark
issues surrounding that title for other
reasons third was dark ring which is
really funny but it’s funnier if you
google it thankfully they settled on
Dark Souls which was apparently okay in
the end
number four weapon degradation bug dark
souls2 as if things weren’t hard enough
if you were playing Dark Souls 2 at 60
frames per second whether it was on a
higher-end computer or the scholar of
the first sin edition on current gen
consoles your weapons would degrade
twice as fast yep before it was
eventually patched this bug would make
weapons break at an alarming rate
forcing you to carry multiple weapons or
a ton of repair powder the glitch was
technically identified before the
release of scholar of the first sin but
was patched a while after the release
given the sadistic nature of the game
standard difficulty hardcore fans
probably thought it was an extra
challenge or something number three
Andre of astora Dark Souls and Dark
Souls 3 well has it ever bothered you
that the NPC’s in this series never
really moved their lips when they’re
talking to you after speaking to the
first punch you probably just expected
that to be the way it is and never
noticed Andre of astora the blacksmith
in the first and third games who is
technically the only character in the
series to move his lips when he speaks
this could give you the impression that
this was a specific design choice and
that there might be an even greater
mystery at hand as to why the NPC’s
don’t physically move when they’re
having a chat with you that or the
developers didn’t care I guess we’ll
never know allow me to speak ranking
number 2 seppuku Dark Souls 2 crown of
the old iron king
sir alonne is an optional boss found in
the crown of the old iron king DLC
you’ve faced a bunch of his Knights up
until this point so it’s exciting to
finally face off against the man himself
he wears an iron suit that’s similar to
that of a samurai and wields a
frightening Lee large katana it’s a
challenging fight but if you somehow
manage to defeat him without taking any
damage he will perform seppuku a
ritualistic suicide where he impales
himself with his own sword though
technically it’s nowhere near as graphic
as the disembowelment involved in
real-world seppuku i guess that he was
probably not too pleased with himself
for not being able to hit you
number one successor to the Kings field
series demon’s souls we all think of the
soul series when we hear the name from
software but the team had been
developing games long before 2009 demon
souls another of their series Kingsfield
incorporates a lot of the features and
design elements that are found in
Demon’s Souls albeit less refined
versions of those elements the basis is
still bare though and you can definitely
see the similarities while demon souls
generally advises a slower pace compared
to other RPGs we’re quite glad that From
Software moved away from the
excruciatingly ly sluggish movement and
turn speed featured in Kingsfield
good luck trying that one
