you haven’t eaten meat in years you
finally gave up cheese and now you want
to take the next step and stop wearing
leather hi I’m Rebecca Brayton and
welcome to watchmojo.com and today we’ll
be looking at leather alternative
cruelty free vegan Footwear what makes a
product vegan absolutely no animal
product at all that’s all now what is
considered an animal product leather
silk fur that’s in terms of the things
that you wear obviously the things that
you eat it’s just you know nothing that
came from an animal miss tricked vegans
won’t even touch honey if no animal
products are used what are the shoes
made from well there are lots of
different materials some of them are
made out of hemp some of them they have
the soles made out of recycled tires
some of them are not anywhere near as
friendly is that they’re you know PVC
and then there are some that are very
sophisticated cotton microfiber mixed in
with some synthetic materials canvas of
course in the sneakers all kinds of
stuff like that how does the quality of
a vegan shoe compared to a natural
leather shoe it depends on the company
just like anything else out there you
get what you pay for so this is the ball
high top for ladies from the company
Macbeth which is from California and
they’re fantastic little company they’ve
just come out with a ladies line very
recently all of these here are part of
the Nova’s fall line a company from
Portugal terrific designers very
comfortable shoes super affordable and
this is a new line that we just started
carrying very very recently a designer
called renishaw this particular shoe is
made out of corduroy and wood and then
these are our classic staples from
vegetarian shoes the boulder which is
the doc marten version and this is the
Chelsea which is exactly like the
blundstone very durable very comfortable
shoe what about price is it comparable
for those kinds of things for sure some
of this can be a little bit more
expensive because they’re also ethically
made is their interest in vegan shoes
from people who aren’t necessarily
vegans or vegetarians I would say
actually most of my customers buy the
shoes because they’re comfortable and
because they’re ethically made but I do
also have more and more vegans coming
and buying your shoes here there are
actually at this point probably maybe a
dozen or so vegan retailers in North
America really not very many but it
grows every year
