Nazareth is considered by many the
childhood home of Jesus it is also
considered to be the location of the
Annunciation when Mary was told by an
angel that she would have Jesus as her
son commemorating this is the Basilica
of the Annunciation one of the largest
Christian Church buildings in the Middle
East the Church of All Nations is found
on Israel’s Mount of Olives which is
also a biblical site the religious and
historic significance of this church is
a section of rock protected within it
which is where Jesus is said to have
prayed before his arrest the Church of
the Holy Sepulchre is perhaps the most
important Christian site in Israel most
Christians believe the church is built
on the site where Jesus was crucified
and buried inside the church is the
stone of the unction tradition says this
is where jesus’ body was prepared for
burial each year hundreds of thousands
of visitors and pilgrims traveled to
Israel to see the land in the Bible
