Children of Bodom on ‘Relentless Reckless Forever’

though this finished heavy metal band
has definitely matured through their
career they’re not afraid to have a good
time hi I’m Rebecca Brayton and welcome
to watchmojo.com and today we’re
speaking with children of bodom about
their album relentless reckless forever
so how would you describe the benz
evolution from album to album well you
know when we regarded the first album we
were like what 17 18 years old and
didn’t know much about anything yet as
we released i’ll move we got more
touring we got more gigs around the
world and you know it really broadens
your views and a lot of things to me it
like shows how we’ve grown also as human
beings that’s just as musicians
just what do you think about the app
actually like being everywhere in the
world you know there’s always someplace
that you know we haven’t played in which
you know from my pony who is a really
cool thing where is one place you
haven’t played yet that you died in a
fight you know we were supposed to play
in Dubai that would be interesting yeah
it would be interesting well whenever I
got there because I got up long story
short I was I was that bowling I’m
drinking with my friends and then I
think I like a strike or something and I
I don’t know what I did you know I like
I made some stew the jump in the air and
somehow I slipped him bowling shoes and
on him and I kind of flipped upside down
from the air and I landed like straight
on my shoulder I’ll go get that hurt
then no way more if i should put her I
don’t have the biggest goddamn idiot in
the world cuz like I don’t think
anyone’s broken any bones what bowl
so let’s talk about relentless reckless
forever what were you guys going for
writing process beckons the son of Adam
promises was the saying that we and we
just rocks and whether we always do kept
it like really spontaneous and stuff I
think the only difference between this
and like the last few albums was that
you know we had like less time in the
studio to to record the album so
basically you know we had to be more
efficient with and you know we had to be
faster so there was like more work and
less partying which I thought was a
really good thing he’s like it was
pretty amazing what we did like within
three weeks
I thought that you know music play and
production wise to me you know it turned
out to be like a lot better than I’m
like blood run for example yes whatever
he said I’m sorry
let’s talk about the covers again I mean
you have done a whole covers on them and
I’d say they’re pretty diverse so how do
you go about choosing the songs that you
covered yeah let’s save diverse all
right well you know nowadays we just
want to pick a song you know that would
be usually not a metal song and
something that would definitely shocked
people in some way or at least surprise
people
we have done like Slayer Slayer covers
and like Iron Maiden stuff you know what
those things were for like you know they
were like tribute album for electro
theatre I was a bunch best did their
covers right but usually the stuff that
we picked you know we wanted to do
something different so that’s why we do
like Britney in and you know Ken Rogers
and whatnot yeah Eddie Murphy anymore
blah
I
I forgot Eddie Murphy had a singing
career so thanks for reminding me you’re
welcome
