since their formation this death metal
band has only gotten more brutal and
intense hi I’m Rebecca Brayton and
welcome to watchmojo.com and today we’re
speaking with Paul mazurka winds from
cannibal corpses of the album torture
let’s talk about torture tell us what
you guys were going for though I think
it’s just more of the same with it when
it comes to us and we’re asked this a
lot what did we do this time what are we
thinking I mean I think it’s in us you
know to play this kind of music
especially after 24 years if anything I
think we’re just over the years we just
refined our songs people worked on our
songwriting abilities all that kind of
thing and it just leads us to this point
you know I tend to like to tell people
let’s just the next chapter in the
Cannibal Corpse story
and I think we were just really trying
to come up with the best songs possible
the most catchy brutal riffs you know
some good lyrics and just try to build
off what we’ve been doing for you know
for 20 years or 20 plus years and of
course not be redundant not repeat
ourselves although we are playing death
metal so it’s not going to be you know
anything too different you know we know
we want to keep our sound of course and
our fans happy so we’ll never see a
Cannibal Corpse bluegrass album no I
don’t think it’s gonna happen I mean
we’re the joke has always been you know
hey when’s the Christmas album coming
out you know a lot of metal bands doing
that I don’t think it’s it’s in cannibal
courses nature to be we do to be doing
anything other than what we do and
that’s how strong we feel about our
music you know and we all love of course
different styles of music and all this
and you know there’s been side bands and
all that but if that’s what it is its
side projects it’s you know it’s it’s
not in Hannibal Corp
we’ve spoken to a lot of metal bands
that have gone through a lot of lineup
changes and you guys have had some
lineup changes but what has kept you in
the same band really when you think
about it we haven’t had a lot of changes
when I send people right right there’s
some bands that I mean you can’t even
count I feel very fortunate very lucky
to be in this position we are living our
dream you got to be happy with what you
need to do in life I believe and like
it’s like I was just saying I’m very
fortunate to be able to do this for 24
years to make this a my career and my
living and do what I want playing
playing drums shorter you know it’s
remarkable you know play death metal for
a living I mean unbelievable so so to me
that’s what really keeps it going never
lost sight of why I got into this you
know and why I’m doing this because I
love it you know so I think that’s what
keeps me keeps me going keeps me pushing
trying to get better and you know just
do what I have to do to to make myself
better and the batter great thank you
very much awesome well thank you
