with Bring Me The Horizon about how they
stand out from the rest of the bands in
their genre
Oh
tell me a bit more about the area that
you grew up and kind of the scene that
was going on there and do you fit into
that scene or kind of stand out we
didn’t fit in whatsoever we went to
these shows but we’re probably the
youngest kids there they’re all kind
like straight edge button hardcore dudes
you know like scene kid or a vehicle it
didn’t catch on in England to like a few
years after America like the whole yeah
we met all crossing and that’s like it
weren’t really any of them kids yeah we
look like that we I mean we’ve always
looked like this so we kind of stood out
a bit
because we always go to these shows in
the newer words when we starting a band
we got a break like one of the guys were
like yeah you can play the show like
we’re playing with all these hardcore
bands and then like we kind of got a bit
respect from that because we were like
16 17 and were like yeah these guys can
play their instruments
do you guys know those big differences
between European and North American
audiences America always got what we did
more than England did I guess that’s
partly cuz we were inspired by a lot of
American acts and stuff like that and we
came over to American first time kids
were going crazy for him like we’d never
been there would even know so I was cool
tell me more about the visual elements
of the band I’ve always been into like
part where that looks very opposite to
the kind of music we are like if you
look at our album covers you don’t
really look like typical metal band
album cover like our first album had
sparrows on the front
the same with the lyrics I mean I’m
screaming like really low and really
brutal and stuff if you read the lyrics
or not like talking about killing people
and stuff you know I mean the talking
about real stuff at first when I’ll
start writing lyrics it we’re all just
like kind of random when I look back I
don’t know what half of it was about
sometimes I guess just an angry kid
writing and stuff but then as the years
progressed I’ve had more I got myself
into more situations and gone through my
stuff it’s all personal everything cut
everything I think about the personal
experiences and stuff and like the
latest albums just completely personal
it’s all about me and just I guess like
struggles with vices and just kind of
like good and evil and stuff like that
