Beginner Bartending Tips and Advice, Cocktail Recipe

hi I’m Bram and I’m Justin and we’re
from Graham our bar services we’re here
today with watchmojo.com and rhombus
shakers gifted imagination we’re ready
to shake things up today we’re going to
go over the essentials needed to make
some basic cocktails for all you want to
be bartenders at home and hopefully have
some locks along the way for sure and
there might be even a couple surprises
along the way too so sit back and relax
before we can let you get a little drink
happy at home Bram and I are going to go
through a little bartending 101 in terms
of the essentials needed to make great
cocktails absolutely so of course first
and foremost tree shaker very standard
we prefer plastic we recommend plastic
unless you like broken glass in your
cocktail which happens fairly often
strainer essential to not make a mess
and for the best possible martinis your
eye scoop which is again very standard
unless you want to use your hands which
we don’t suggest at all this is a lemon
or lime squeezer which we find for the
more innovative minds we always like to
recommend a classic cutting board a
knife lemon and lime what we like to do
we like to give it a nice roll so it’s
soft cut it in half and then of course
you squeeze changes lives then we have
our standard straws napkins and of
course the most important part the
alcohol never leave home without it now
that we’ve showed you the tools required
to make the perfect drink run again –
the most important part the pour have
you ever wondered why it takes so long
for you drink to be made well I mean one
of the main reasons that today a lot of
bartenders use the measuring cup or
jigger and they view it as kind of
essential to the drink making process
when people like Graham and I view it
it’s kind of a set of training wheels
you know our motto of Brehme or bar
service is the faster you get your drink
is the faster you get another one so
Justin what are some of the factors that
play in when you’re serving clients at
the bar well I mean the average
bartender could write basically a novel
on the factors that affect pouring but
some of the main ones include
drunkenness of your current coin I mean
we don’t want to get someone who’s
already hammered more drunk
there’s also likability of the person
you’re serving from anything to the
smile the smell of your hair you know
nothing too creepy but for all your
clients at home never underestimate the
power of flirting to get
extra ounce or coupe for sure you know
when you’re making your basic cocktails
your Roman cokes and your Baca
cranberries is anywhere between one and
two ounces and of course once you move
into your martinis it’s anywhere between
one and a half to three ounces but
remember never judge you can always go a
few ounces over that’s right well
hopefully this was helpful for all of
you watching at home remember that these
aren’t rules these are just a set of
guidelines to help you I thought we said
mixed drinks were an out to two ounces
then we also sit in my own bed sure you
did
but you know this isn’t really much of a
bartending video why not well because we
haven’t even made a drink yet speak for
yourself so now we’re going to make you
one of the more popular drinks the
passionfruit martini
we of course like we said before an
ounce and a half to three ounces of
vodka about five to six ounces of
pineapple juice the most important part
the shake strain into your martini glass
nice and foamy very important and then a
touch of creme de cassis magically
delicious well thanks for joining us
today we hope you had a good time we
hope you learn something new
remember that when you’re behind the bar
you’re your own boss you’re allowed to
be creative and make up your own rules
having a great time I’m sure you are
we’ll see you next
