watchmojo.com I got the chance to sit
down with Edie and Kevin from the
Barenaked Ladies where they showed off
their legendary comedic chops with a few
off-the-cuff Beatles references and a
response to the alleged requests by Paul
McCartney to work with the band
apparently a couple years ago Paul
McCartney said he wanted to work with
you guys has anything ever come of that
yeah I mean he just won’t stop calling
it it’s a pain in the ass he keeps like
you know disguising his voice and then
once he gets me on the phone he’ll say
it’s pole and yeah it’s been a drag
obviously we would be over the moon if
he actually said anything like that and
but we don’t know for sure that he did I
think we tried to reach out and and see
if he actually did say that but we don’t
know for sure we keep coming back to
Beatles references but ty the other
night we were in Orillia we were talking
about all the little small towns close
by there’s a town called noh-varr that’s
just north of well it’s two hours north
of Toronto and I said I introduced the
backing singers which was a tie and Jim
has been no far singers and I said yeah
he’s a real no farm man sitting in his
no var van making always know of our
plans for Novartis so stupid and yet we
enjoy that sort of thing and we do it
every night in our shows and it’s it’s
just an extension of who we are as
people as well we joke around when we’re
together and I think our audience enjoys
that here’s us on record saying we would
love to work with Paul McCartney on
anything if he wants to do ivory ivory
ivory ivory and ivory it was two carats
on a on our record whatever
I’m sure Paul McCartney wanted to reach
us
he probably because somebody who could
