Banana Republic is taking their Safari
style to the office hi I’m Rebecca

I spoke with PR representative for
banana republic Jennifer Gotye about
their spring and summer collection so
firstly can you tell me a bit about what
banana republic is known for absolutely
banana republic is really all that
modern urban affordable luxury and i
think you can really really see that in
the collection the terrible he was
founded on a safari concept and it
really came back to its roots this
season for spring/summer giraffe print
piece which obviously has its foundation
in safari but the question is really
really grown and has now really
developed a very modern aesthetic I just
really taken those staple pieces you
would find a safari collection and built
upon them in a really modern way tell me
a little bit about the trends that we’re
gonna see for the spring and the summer
colors and fabrics and stuff like that
we did tons of dresses in bright colors
and neutrals the bright colors we
focused on were really beautiful magenta
tones really really gorgeous jewel tones
bright canary yellow we did green we did
a really beautiful bright orange and
then a gorgeous room cobalt blue but
then it was all grounded with hits of
white and then you know sort of neutral
khaki tones as well so can you tell me a
bit about this outfit the walking shore
has become a real staple for
spring/summer this is a really luxurious
piece due to the color in large parts
just such a beautiful tone she’s also
got a handbag with a patent details a
patent still continues to be really
strong and accessories it’s just a
really wearable look you can wear this
the office and then out for drinks
afterwards so this outfit has some
sunglasses tell me about them we’re
launching an optical line starting
in stores in March or over 21 different
styles so the really really beautiful
sunglasses I can’t pick which one I want
for myself but there’s tortoiseshell
black there’s lots of aviator styles as
well and they’re all very oversized 60s
influenced you know the full UVA and UVB
spectrum and they’re just gorgeous so
tell me a bit more about the accessories
in this open well yet so the accessories
really highlight the dress dress is
gorgeous with the buttons and the really
bright color and then all you really
have to do without on another pop of
color with the headscarf and then you
had a white handbag and it just sort of
grounds everything luggage style bag
just are really really popular right now
so very structure lots of pockets put
your cell phone and your ipod and
everything you have with you so it’s a
