welcome to watchmojo.com and today we’ll
be taking a look at the career of Ashton
Kutcher this is the moneymaker I’m not
that good of an actor this is how I get
the jobs I know that man enough to admit
it
Christopher Ashton Kutcher was born on
February 7th 1978 in Cedar Rapids Iowa
and was raised in a conservative Roman
Catholic family
Kutcher grew up with a fraternal twin
who suffered from a heart muscle disease
the stress of this ordeal forced him to
keep busy in order to handle his
emotions
however those feelings occasionally
turned to suicidal urges to make matters
worse his parents divorced when he was
only 16 and this spurred him to lash out
by burglarizing his own high school he
was caught convicted and sentenced to
three years probation as well as 180
hours of community service he also lost
his girlfriend and any chance he had at
a scholarship so he enrolled at the
University of Iowa there he decided to
register for biochemical engineering in
the hope that he could discover a cure
for his brother’s heart condition think
everything’s can be horrendous
at that time he was only able to land
summer employment and was forced to
donate blood for money to pay his rent
and tuition
fortunately all that changed when he was
approached by a scout and was asked to
enter the fresh faces of Iowa modeling
competition he placed first and won a
trip to New York City’s international
modeling and talent Association
convention this caused him to drop out
of college to sign with the next
modeling agency he then appeared in a
series of Calvin Klein ads following his
first taste of the media spotlight
he quickly relocated to Los Angeles to
pursue a career in acting he nailed his
first audition and landed the role of
the immature and absent-minded Michael
Kelso in the long-running period sitcom
that 70s show which debuted in 1998 what
happened your dad’s hair got a permanent
so that’s permanent the young talent
immediate popularity launched him into
the world of film as a result he then
appeared in a string of comedies such as
2000’s cult hit dude where’s my car dude
where’s my car where’s your car dude
these roles also included a brief
appearance as a self-obsessed actor in
2003’s Cheaper by the Dozen the hapless
Tom Stansfield in my boss’s daughter and
as a newlywed in the hit just married
alongside the late Brittany Murphy at
this time Kutcher made headlines when he
began dating actress Demi Moore who was
over 15 years his senior the two married
just two years later meanwhile he
produced and starred as the host on his
own MTV series Punk’d
which was a reality show involving
hidden cameras he also formed the
production company catalyst films and
used that platform to launch several
other reality based television programs
during his rapid rise within the comedy
genre Kutcher shocked audiences when he
starred in the unusually dramatic sci-fi
film the butterfly effect every time I
try to help someone everything just goes
to shit don’t give up now slick hell
I’ve already done so much for me he then
returned to lighter comedic fare
opposite the late Bernie Mac in 2005
guess who your business man she’s nice
you’re white she’s black that missing
thing that’s it she’s everything I’m not
in 2006
he departed from his full-time role on
that 70s show in order to star opposite
Kevin Costner as an aviation survival
technician in the guardian Kutcher
showcased his skill at multitasking when
he also began voicing various characters
on the stop-motion animation comedy
program Robot Chicken he similarly lent
his comical voice to the computer
animated kids film open season was dead
but you gotta go he later returned to
the top of the box office when he
starred opposite Cameron Diaz in the hit
what happens in Vegas and in 2010’s
holiday romance Valentine’s Day he
followed that by playing a hitman in the
action comedy killers and by taking on a
casual relationship with Natalie
Portman’s character in the film no
strings attached you didn’t do this
do what use each other for sex at all
hours of the day and night nothing else
yeah I could do that while his career
was filled with high-profile successes
and headlines he made unprecedented
waves when he landed the coveted role as
Charlie Sheen’s replacement in the
wildly popular sitcom Two and a Half Men
while he has continued to entertain
countless fans Ashton Kutcher has also
developed a passionate Twitter following
found success as a venture capitalist
and has even become an outspoken
protester against human trafficking no
go and then no way that no way
