members of green day still did get good
reviews from the media and the public
they went on tour in 2002 with blink 182
and of course although so many people
were saying that the fan may be falling
apart the media proved otherwise after
the tour they decided to take a break go
home to their families and during this
break they really had to consider what
they were going to do with themselves
with the future a lot of things had
changed in their lives over the past 12
13 years and a lot of issues has
developed amongst the members from
selves they have a lot of arguments long
talks and discussions about these issues
that they have a strain out they went
back to the studio recorded about 12
tracks and then all the master tapes got
stolen the album was rumored to be
called cigarettes and Valentines but
they decided not to rerecord those songs
or try to recreate them and just create
completely new songs and do better than
they did the last time now with this
they came out with American Idiot in
2004 it debut the number one spot in the
album sales for Billboard charts which
was also their first number one album he
also had number one hits all over there
least three singles including a porous
American Idiot holiday and Boulevard of
broken dreams now this album was a
little different than their older albums
the media claimed that is a little more
mature musically as well not just lyrics
and they clearly were not afraid to talk
about their own opinions on the album
much of the album was about the US
government how things are being run how
expecting the citizens and of course how
against they were against all of these
things even though they were and still
are American
themselves this album did allow the guys
to get a Grammy Award in 2005 and also
let them to have five of the Grammy
nominations they play two shows in
England and they use these concerts as a
music used to release for the CD and
home DVD called bullet in a bible which
is released in 2005 our total album
sales are up to 50 3.1 million worldwide
which includes over 10 albums that have
been released to date Green Day got the
name for the band when they were
watching Sesame Street believe it or not
they were still in while they’re
watching it and one of the characters
Ernie used the term green day so it kind
of became of an inside joke between the
members Armstrong claims that they are
currently working on a new album which
will be coming out soon and he says that
it’s going to be a major event that’s
been prone ax thanks for checking out
