Offensive is considered a major turning
point in the Vietnam War while the North
Vietnamese didn’t obtain any of their
tactical goals and eventually suffered a
huge military defeat it could still be
viewed as a psychological win for them
because the Tomatina side was capable of
launching such a huge attack support
from the US public deteriorated and
Lyndon Johnson’s popularity took a huge
hit this eventually led him to withdraw
from a reelection campaign
