What if there was no fat shaming? | Kenda Al-Shamrookh | TEDxYouth@Columbus

what if nobody ever got fat shamed have

you ever gotten fat shamed or do you

know anybody who has well i had a friend

and she got fat shamed a lot eventually

she became homeschooled that made me

really sad i called her once a month and

she sounded so depressed the bullies

change her physically and emotionally

she could have gone anorexia or bulimia

two if you don’t know what anorexia is

its when you starve yourself to become

skinnier bulimia is sort of the same

thing but you use methods to avoid great

game one method is eating as much as you

want and throwing it up when you’re

finished people from ages six to sixty

also get bulimia another symptom from

fat shaming is depression depression is

a mental disorder causing negative

thoughts or feelings symptoms include

bad mood sad sadness hunger weight gain

or loss and a poor appetite people

people get bullying people get

depression each year three million

people a ten to fifteen percent of you

US citizens get anorexia and eight

million people get bulimia I have a

passion for making people happy and I

want to spread awareness one thing you

can do is make fun posters for someone

saying how much you care and love them

another thing you can do is play with

someone lonely at the playground or you

can give someone a number to get help if

things get worse one of the best things

you can do is give someone a personal

note saying how much you care and love

them they’ll forget all about the

negative thoughts last but certainly not

least not everybody has to be perfect to

be accepted everyone is special and unique in their own way thank you
