Laurens very happy to be amidst all of
you here today I’m speaking on this
topic simplifying modern life Bakunin
symbolism and epics I’m sure all of us
being in the land of India have heard
something about that on my hand about it
but what I’m going to share in your
today is how these books can really make
a lot of difference in our lives
if understood properly so the first
thing I would like to share with y’all
so simple ism is a part of storytelling
I’m sure all of us in our childhood have
heard a lot of stories and stories have
such a deep impact on human life
in fact everything we know in life is
simply stories every day when we pick up
the newspaper and read it’s a group of
stories every day when we talk to people
it’s simply sharing stories so
practically in every aspect of life
stories have so much symbolism in the
stories we’re talking about how these
stories have been planned and written in
such a way that through the story there
is this hidden symbolism or hidden
message I’m going to share with y’all
some symbolism that you can see in the
Ramayana and something in the
Mahabharata later but essentially what
I’m going to talk to you about is how
each of these stories symbolically
represent some problems and some dilemma
some aspect of our own lives in fact in
the last 20 years that I’ve been
studying and researching on the ramayana
mahabharata the bhagavad gita I found
the practically every problem of life in
every aspect of life can be dealt with
if you understand these stories and the
symbolism behind these stories in fact
modern life also is simply a group of
stories what is TEDx the whole concept
of Ted is simply people coming and
having their stories here on this
platform so the Ramayana is a fantastic
story and through story there is some
very amazing and enlightening concepts
there like all these stories as
enlightening entertainment it’s not just
entertaining but it’s also enlightening
the world Rama in the Ramayana means the
one who gives happiness
relation to others the opposite of the
world drama is a word Nirvana in the
Ramayana the word romano means the one
who makes others cry these are the two
extremes of people that we meet in life
there are some people the moment you
meet them you start smiling and then
there are some people the moment you
meet then you start crying the world –
Arthur – it was the name of Rams father
the kingdom Ionia the word dasharatha
means the one whose chariot and goal in
ten directions the word the shelter also
means the one who’s ten senses somebody
must ten senses alpha control lives of
the city known as idea what is the
meaning of the word idea you know means
fight and our you know means of places
it is no fight so which essentially
means somebody who’s ten senses are
under control such a person lives in a
city which is peaceful that means
somebody who’s ten senses under control
his mind is peaceful and as such a
person’s life Rahm is born which
essentially means when somebody whose
tenses under control and whose mind is
peaceful in such a person’s life God is
born the world for another word for for
Rahman in the Ramayana is the Shannon on
the Shannon a means the one who has ten
heads but what does that symbolically
represent it represents somebody who’s
ten senses are out of control the
sheriff I mean somebody whose fences are
under control and the Shona know means
somebody who senses of are out of
control and where does the feminine Lu
he lives on in Lanka a city where there
is no peace because why is that why is
lambda a place where there is no peace
because everything there is stolen
property
Mahabharat says there are six situations
in life where you will not get sleep at
night and of course if somebody has a
reading problem you can probably check
the Mahabharat Nazim
your situation falls on one of the six
but one of the six thing it says is if
you have stolen others property you’re
holding others property too much you
won’t get sleep so essentially the
Shahana means somebody who strengthens
our control because property and
naturally it’s a place where there is no
peace in the Ramayana is very
interesting personality named Diwali I’m
gonna tell you symbolically about body
represents and it’s very interesting for
you to notice Wally has a particular
strength he wears a diamond necklace
around his neck and the power of that
pendant is that whenever he comes in
front of his opponent half the strength
of the woman comes to you that’s the
power of Bali so essentially anybody
comes in front of Ali he has the ability
to derive half this ring volley
represents temptations in life I am sure
all of us have some temptation or the
other just human example suppose you’re
a diabetic patient and a diabetic
patient naturally love sweets loves
sugar but he is not supposed to eat
sugar so if somebody’s a diabetic
patient and you bring in front of that
person a gulab jamun now the movement of
the book the gulab jamun comes in front
of the diabetic person in the diabetic
person is ability to say no he simply do
to resist becomes half and the gulab
jamun becomes double powerful
that’s what Valley is that’s what
annotations are in life in the Greek
mythology there is the story of Issus
and silence and Mister sharing something
really show how every story has symbolic
understanding in life silence represents
impatience so story is that there is an
island in the middle of an ocean where
there are this group of dangerous
personalities who are known as the
Cylons they sing very beautifully but
when the sailors
towards the island to hear their singing
then they destroyed their so this man
notices his family and he wanted
desperately hear the song of the sirens
but at the same time he didn’t want to
get caught by them so what he did was he
told all his sailors to plug their ears
very very intensely so that they don’t
hear anything but at the same time he
wanted to hear so he made it then tie
him up to the mast to a ship must and
then they said to say to give them
instructions no matter what I tell you
don’t untie me and then when they were
passing through he heard the voice of
the sirens he was desperately wanted to
go to that Island but somehow your side
up so you go to move and we sailors they
were they use the plug so they couldn’t
hear him so naturally as a result they
pass through that Island safe this story
again represents temptations whenever
you come across temptations in life how
do you deal with them
most people succumb to the temptations
but this man notices he decided time
cells to a mast
what does tying himself to the mast
represented tying yourself to the mast
represents the only way to deal with
temptations will not be epidemic
diseases if you have time yourself go
mission tied yourself to some goal only
when you’re tied yourself intensely to a
goal no matter how many temptations come
you won’t run away
essentially the reason I’m telling you
all this is how
symbolism through stories can teach us a
lot in life I’m going to now divide the
entire element into three cities if you
see the remind them this way it will
make a lot of sense
the remaining essentially has three
cities in which it’s mostly situated in
Mississippi of ayothaya which is way up
on the north the city of Lanka which is
way down on the south and between either
the city which is known as the city of
symbolically these to be the present
busy city is represent three different
mindsets the cpy Odia represents the
mindset of culture it’s called Sanskriti
very high character people people with a
lot of gratitude people with a lot of
self glue as a focus the city of Lanka
is exactly opposite of the city of Ionia
which is known as recruiting recruiting
means people here have no culture rather
their only culture is about how to grow
in terms of wealth and in terms of
enjoyment it’s typical culture of eat
drink and be merry
it’s not about responsibilities it’s not
about doing the right thing it’s not
about monastry it’s not about character
it’s about what gives me happiness
it’s about exploitation and in between
is the city of agenda which is a city
whose mindset is between that of Ghana
or the air the city of esteem des of the
personality should look they’re what we
call them is typically we say they’re
monkeys but essentially the remind call
us them as van and us the word monitor
is a question nada means human and what
are the means are you ruining the people
in LA every day they have to ask
themselves the question am i human that
means the more I am bending towards the
culture of ayothaya I’m a human the more
and bending towards a culture of lanka
that much from a monkey and therefore
there are three monkeys and i appear in
each kingdom the first monkey is wall-e
wall-e represents exactly the mindset of
lanka like era one in his mindset when
Robin and Wally were best friends and
the second type of personality in
christian de is hanuman ji and the
character and mind
– almost like none of the IOT overseas
and the third is sue green and this
monkey represents people who are highly
confused in life do I want to be in the
morning so it’s like that this boy’s
life and and you should know that is
forgiveness o krishna and she start
drilling and please don’t kill my child
spare him Christians I don’t worry I
will not touch him
I in fact he said I will give him
hundred chances at one go if he makes
hundred mistakes if he insults me
hundred times I do anything so his
mother was very happy not at me even
nobody he has a grudge against somebody
else hundred chances is quite a lot at
every opportunity she should father kept
that in his mind so every time you come
in front of Krishna from the core of his
heart every time women came in front of
Krishna he started blasting Krishna like
anything you have all kinds of bad words
but he always kept accountable when it
was 99 you would stop fighting bad words
so one particular time when that was
happening the Mahabharata and Krishna
was given the position of being the
first receiver of the rege a very highly
respectable position fishapod lost it
his envious broke open and he began to
blast Krishna left right center and he
forgot to keep calm and the moment he
finished hundred and you went to the
hundred and first incident
Sudarshan chakra came and see what is
like the story represents something very
interesting in life just like we have
something on a cloc line of control
between two countries so that you know
there is peace there is something known
as
lor line of respect within relationships
between do people to people when they
are together to cross that line of
respect the relationship begins to shake
at a certain point the relationship
completely gets destroyed the disc of
time sever’s the relationship every
relationship has to preserve the
tradition
within the line of respect finally I
would like to end with one very
interesting story from Nevada someone is
in essence to the story about letting go
to the story about three people were
older generation and three people from
the younger generation and we find that
Muhammad teaches us a very important
thing and the important theme is known
as let it move all of us in life at some
point of time or the other have to know
to let go the Mahabharat talks about
three old people who were not ready to
let go
the first is Bhishma he was not ready to
let go of his principles the principle
that he had he had taken a wall that he
will never get married he’ll take in a
wall that you protect all of us in up no
matter what happens this suppose this
wall that he had taken became an
obstacle throughout the Mahabharata
mahabharath if only Bhishma had not
taken that wall
Oh Bhishma decided to break that wall
because at some point that wall had
become actually meaningless the roasting
initially for his father’s protection of
pleasure rather but eventually that wall
really became a disturbance for the
whole country but he was not ready to
let go of his principle because he
decided I will die but I’ll not break
this principle of you know following
this wall the second personality the
second world person in Maharashtra
Graciela was intensely behind position
he wanted to sit on the throne was an
apple no matter what happened you want
to sit on the throne
there’s not any let go of the throne no
matter what you seen ahead
in fact his son duryodhan was such a
disturbance to society
Vyasa had actually told him that this
boy is loaded into disturbance actually
he told him when he was born but somehow
the thrush nor have was very strongly in
that position of being the king so no
matter how many people gave him advice
he was not ready to let go
and the maha that was not ready to let
go
was thrown on the bus and this reason he
was not ready to let go was because was
attachment to his son attachment
sometimes make us do things that we
don’t want to do so these are three old
people in the muhabba that were not able
to let go one was nominated at both
principals one was not to be a
detectable of position and the druggist
no need to let go in the Mahabharata you
find the exact opposite happening among
the youngsters the three younger
generation three people it is still here
principle or never see in the never
speaking a lie but when time came
Krishna told in you have to speak a lie
now he had a lifelong principle of
speaking the truth but he realized that
for me to now give society a shame for
me to bring back Dharma I need to let go
of a principle of not speaking a lie
in the same family we find prediction
