Marta was a student
and I was very interested in the indigenous
selling their backpacks and their crafts

try to understand them but there was something

and it was the way they offered
everything they did in a state
special awareness of mother earth
simple as a banana
they removed something they took something out of the
backpack opened a hole in the earth
to the one tree and deposited an offering
that was magical
they were impeccable not even the
heat has affected us I remember
perfectly that instant
maybe 22 years was 20 and spoke with
they the first times do not
I asked a lot if I could go to the mountains
or if they took me but if I tried
establish a dialogue or relationship with
him and so they spent more semesters of my
college
trying to go to santa marta or around
of thanks the snowfall and tell them that if
they took me until one day passed
indigenous young man looked at me and said let’s go

the collection of banana coffee beans in the
day after day I went back to college
studying my career but started
understand that in this world they exist as

a great depth and knowledge
ancestral began to pass the time and
the connections with those gentlemen of
the sierra became deeper I got
enter those communities little by little
but what most caught my attention
as a photographer was that there was not a
document there was absolutely nothing
it was an oral tradition absolutely
linear through time through
grandparents and great grandparents and grandchildren
and so they transmitted exactly that
knowledge then there was no
visual record
of that transmission of that feeling and of
that living in such a magical place and so

It’s not easy but there are things that open
worlds and one of them is this
this speaks a language beyond the
human tongue and this opens doors
as long as it is connected to the
heart and soul so I started like that
of talk because I wish in a certain way
take them there through sound
in such a way that we begin to document
ancestral healing procedures
the earth who are the mamos who
are those people who live in that
magnificent place that is part of our
country are people who are in a state
permanent awareness of healing and
