wonderful that we’re able to able to get
young people together on a sunny Sunday
the last day of the week or beginning of
the week that young people will ever
come to events but well done so the
organizers I’m very impressed
I want to I want to talk from my mind I
want to talk about few things that this
group can benefit from from our long
period of about 16 years 17 years now
that we’ve been on this subject my wish
is that as young people continues to
develop in in their life they will
continue to pick from all the issues
around them issues that has positive
positive that has really developed their
life into positive activities negative
side of it is love behind you know
because there are so much so much
opportunities
tap from in this country you know
because from my own little experience in
life no take him back in the sixties
when I was in the secondary school
boarding school in a better grammar
school we we had a very good educational
background and at the same time we’ve
been always making sure that
we transfer such opportunities to those
coming behind us you know we’ve done so
much you know the past 17 years has been
a lot of experience for me and working
with young people and it the the topic
today is think again which is such a
strong combination in today’s life of
young people because young people which
I have gone through life as a young man
you know growing up those period we had
our parents you know on the church and
the mosque you know directing our lives
you know developing us both in education
and the social social aspect of our
development our growth in life so think
again has always been a word that one
has to really sit down and you know look
into the meaning it’s not the dictionary
that you need this some around so think
again it’s your life it’s think again
about what you are doing
am I making progress is there anything I
can do all the to change my life you
know is anything that I’m doing right is
anything that I need to do more you know
so you think again and you know you need
to sit down and plan your life your
parents have done their best
you know they’ve given also education
the authorities have made provision to
to provide education of opportunities
here in this country comparable to other
parts of on the on the developed
countries you know take example of
Africa you know certain parts of Africa
they’re they always talk about is well
endowed what the endowments
the opportunities the wealth they are
not being well directed the country the
political scene there the corrupt
politicians very corrupt that you cannot
think of how all the wealth can be
developed you know as God has given that
part of the world such wealth
economically so it’s up to us you know
the people in this world to see them
think education you have you have had a
you know opportunity to go to the
Primary School secondary school
University you know wherever even those
who are not economically and out you
know there is opportunities there are
there are vocational jobs that people
can can go to there are careers in
various forms you know that people can
tap into this is this is a career that’s
a career music is a career but it has to
be well well tailored you know to the
minds of the people not negatively
someone was talking he I was listening
out there but street music not to me I
have a different perception about it
because you know in an environment of
this nature you know street music has to
be nurtured towards the positive side of
said you know sending message out to the
people not negatively not about drugs

drugs you know so negative side of that
should be to be removed you know there
are opportunities here and there you
know just think about it work hard you

inspired so much young people that today
any group that I go out to speak to I
think that story does go down in their
minds that such young person with the
aspiration of coming over and was denied

when I look our meet with his age group
that will have reached that age we are
they are today it pleases me to see them
develop the swatch level of success in

know when I went back to Nigeria after
graduating from here we go to a shrine
every Fridays you know and you know
smoking gang guys who’s in the air all
over the place if you don’t smoke it you
inhale it

this what that that time that kind of

workshop we educated and we took them to

school fees to arrange people my reign

those days we used to have at the West

now so we work hard and suddenly we went
back to where we came from and we joined
the civil service I joined the civil
service I worked for almost 18 years
before the tragedy occurred and with
that I didn’t allow that to depress me I
could have been on the street with you

pick of my life again I lost everything
as a civil servant I was to become a pom
SEC permanent secretary the Minister of
Defense but I had to come back and
support my family and I had to support
young people because at that time the
life of young people in Pekka you know
became is developed now this changed
there’s a lot that has been done by the
by the authorities you know there’s
still a lot to be done you know so for
me we need to keep working with this
group there are so much opportunities I
keep saying it you know there are so
much jobs they’re out there you know you
need to just tap it if you can’t find
jobs here in the UK there are jobs in
the Middle East I have a few number of
Nigerians who are working who have been
headhunted from this country we’ve done
very well you know they don’t very well
here they are had wanted to go on
develop the nuclear power energy in in
the Emirates so there are so much jobs
all around the world there are jobs in
Nigeria there are opportunities in
Nigeria young people should go and
develop that part of the world in Ghana
City alone you know in India there’s so
much you but if you just sit down
you get yourself depressed you know
there’s no need for it make yourself
happy settle down get married get
children
yeah because in the Bible it is in the
Bible that you should procreate you know
the Lord said it go out there and
procreate so that the world can continue
to exist if you don’t procreate that
will be the end of this beautiful world
because you don’t produce young people
to take over yes you have to produce not
the other side of it but procreate
