It’s okay to fail! | Kiran Mayee Madupu | TEDxCBIT

[Applause]

in college I did a bunch of crazy things

so I don’t know which of those I

quite odd to get onto this platform

they went for a movie and it was

atrocious who absolutely hated it

how long before you decide to just get

up and walk out see the movie like

brahmotsava

then we get into tasks and set up some

time passes and we realize this is not

what we want or this is not what we

thought it would be right or you simply

changed your mind but at the cost of

being miserable or unhappy we continue

keep going keep doing it because we tell

ourselves it started so we might as well

finish it or to come this far or what

will others think we’ll think that I

keep changing my mind I don’t have

strength to find a sign of weakness so

we just keep doing it I think my life is

a case study because I ask that as at my

disposal when I was in 10th 3 he asked

to the question what next was like his

biggest thing in my life and the drama

queen Delacroix’s I used to remember

that poem by Robert Frost the road not

really and I will be until now if I take

this and then ten years later I start

leaking out like I didn’t take the other

Road what would happen to me so that was

like the biggest problem – and then

people around

everybody has that loose ends together

so they said look here on you study well

so because I want I keep and then I’m

human I teach four years later from this

very college never placements and I got

three offers and again I had to make

another decision because with job I

choose will determine the next of the

good job gives more growth than a big

chocolate the position is better so that

was nothing

I mean him there was need annoyed

working for two years all the consequent

from my house till then to all my

relatives with a kind of make your

cousin’s really age they would be like

teeth you know she’s got a cat see she’s

gotta talk like how it was and I was

there 21 years for financial

independence you see a good future

whatever all that all that jazz

and then suddenly I had this epiphany

that I didn’t want to do the same then I

wanted to dance you see I was training

in initially it was like like a hobby

was going on inside but slowly it

evolved into intense love affair and I

wanted to freely get absorbed in it to

learn more practice effective and

perform it and as a result I realized I

needed to spend a lot more time trying

to nurture that art form and walking in

a field and

so that was it moment of death now I

want to pitch I want to dance my parents

started freaking out but he was too much

John’s like where as not gonna get you

you’re going to be a dancer and then

what and he worked so hard for this he

worked so many years for this any wanna

throw this away they said it was right I

did work very hard about eight years and

I was in a good place and I’m throwing

it away

yes that’s true but then I’ve started

backtracking

I started thinking did I but they even

mind and I was just 14 when I have to

choose the biggest decision but the gets

a fork in the road that kind of leads

you away and away from the other side

you keep going further and further away

how on earth like everyone the age of 14

what it is that I want on their side

wondering that the age bracket would be

14 to 25 or even 30 these are such

formative years and you’re so

impressionable at this age a simple

thing like a heart rate or peer pressure

or just because you don’t want to be

like your elder brother or sister all

you want to be exactly like them these

are the things has determind what you

want to do

it’s very rare that people know what we

want so anyway like anything else in

life I started taking up there was a lot

of practice to be done a lot of studying

lot of research and it’s an expensive

hobby to of you so on the side I was

guarding all the three three lamps

part-time jobs that I could I did the

movie Louie I did the content writing I

did graphic design he had an event

management I did like so many of those

things from the side but in the process

I picked up a lot of skills and they

really helped me with my dancing and

even though it was such a challenge to

take it up and and I didn’t even know if

there is some success making to me I

didn’t even know if I’m going to make it

but it didn’t matter it’s kind of

contentment where I felt doing dance

make it make sense so we are just so

I started one thing how can anybody make

decisions and stick to them for the rest

you see twenty-six-year-old me just look

back at the 14 year money and it was a

warning how we’ve all been functioning

them and even now I tell myself that I’m

changing I’m changing what if tomorrow I

just decide that I don’t want to think

of something else

even then I thought that’s fine you know

because where’s the question of having a

solid mind when you’re going through so

needs I water here for coffee give me

and then I join aiesec in the meantime

and then I got an opportunity to work

with an international company a

multinational company like the Reuter

and all those skills really helped me

become words words and really mean made

me understand – so if that was a mistake

tonight it was a great leap and I don’t

say that my movie ends here like this

it’s possible that I’m going to make the

next step of my life very soon so all I

want to tell you guys is that we yeah

we’re energetic ever stupid so if you

want to try something

don’t ever let anybody tell you that

it’s cool just try it because it’s oh

he’s able to see it’s okay if you’re

going to make me sleep and it’s not only

okay

I’ve been so much so in this which is a

purely expressionist now here I’m not

sure how many of you would say to it

annamacharya annamacharya is

conversation with his baby boy lord

krishna and he says all i have to do is

meditate upon your name and feel

absolutely you are the one who has

stolen butter and the entire universe

all lords and bow down to you you are

the one who resides in the 70s far

enough Alicia you were the one
