I was freshly unemployed and tried to
figure out or where I want to go you
know what I want to do with my life so I
decided to learn choice so I decided to
learn Chinese and take a road trip from
Hong Kong to love law then interesting
68 day road trip a Chinese company had
just come out with the drone for aerial
cinematography amazing John I invested
in that role along with an expensive
latest GoPro I flew so beautifully
because such a pleasure to fly that and
just take videos and photos fighters
into my expensive hobby there was a
major gust of wind and my drone just
flew away I was super super depressed
for the next two to three weeks after
that primarily because well number one I
did understand how to operate the doors
very well and well it was one of the
first prototypes of the drone company so
I finished my road trip and came back to
India where I visited my alma mater IIT
Bombay there were a bunch of guys who
all right just next there were a bunch
of guys who were working on a troll that
they had built for a competition how
amazed to see that I mean I just bought
it I think these guys are building it
back home I was really really happy to
see that they were flying on the grounds
of IIT Bombay and sometime into the
flight the drone crashed I could see the
same dejection and despair on their face
that I experienced when when I was when
I had lost my old role it’s not about
the money that you lost when his ID
Bombay was funding all of the work it’s
more your own stuff and and the many
crashes it kind of hits your morale
pretty hard and you you know you tend to
give up in fact there were a few other
teams who had already given up for much
less good news though the team went on
to went on to win various awards in
France I like France to be precise in
various categories so they did well
almost a year later

we understood the technical ability of
the solution because this way we in the
media whatever I did instead of
all change you have to sit to read
people like some fool it was also very
unstable and this point is not making up
we actually had to carry one person
along with us everywhere we went
just so that we get 500 home that we
went with finally any any sort of
additional external hardware to the role
was just extremely messy of that the
programming integration was very
difficult so very demotivating if in
short like they were quite a few hurdles
selfish not imagine imagine you are an
Android L over any Android a diversity
how I see a couple of hands going up now
imagine you are in a droid depth of
birth and you have to build the whole
yourself you have to build up phone by
yourself you have to figure out how to
make the foot work and then you have to
worry whether the government will use
and let you use it or not that’s the
problem that gold as the first in India
are facing and that is the kind of that
is the reason why we have not seen
hundreds or thousands of whole companies
come up in India yet so so if I told you
that we looked at all these problems
basements and decided to rinse them on a
grid the government board I like if I
told you that we just built with the
advent of into the market I would be

person their ideas that bring the
magical that dream because if one does
that workability the drone industry we
gave this herb he gave two hands of a
few layer of developer and they came up
with some pretty amazing ideas so they

somewhere and I had to quickly deploy

so the idea was we should just throw it

you just programmed the few lines of
code was like I do really want to keep
giving in inputs to that all the time
what if I could what if I could just
with my motion sensor I was the whole
drone so this is what he did
there’s one star wospac she was and he
was like can you feel the force I had no
idea what he was talking about but then
then I saw what he was what he was

has a distance sensors that feels the
thing now these are just some of the
things that the developers you know just
for fun executed on the platform that
was available but the but you could find
a whole bunch of actual use cases in
real life going down the line for these
funny quirky applications at the built
on top of this imagine you’re a soldier
in an urban battlezone you wouldn’t want
to sit down figure out how to start it
and you know go into the battlefield you
would rather just want to throw throw
the rule in the air and see what it
gives you if you are off if you are
working in closed spaces you want your
distance and often obstacle sensors to
figure out how to go about in that space
and for the Star Wars thing so that
that’s what the star was think in case
of in case of the magnetometer law
imagine you’re a variables company that
wants to integrate drones into your use
cases this is another application that
you could go ahead with and that’s how
people are using our drones
that’s how developers are implementing
if I can go back to the phone analogy we
had phones that were sold as feature
phones back in their day but it when iOS
and Android came in they changed the
entire game altogether the power shifted
from the manufacturer to the developer
and Hardware just became a mode of
executing that that’s how we able to see
it in the in the tone space people who
are now selling these features as cool
role features the developers the true
developers are going to change the game
and make it more application.if give the
power to developers more than the
platform itself in fact we have we have
seen a lot of interest from the industry
also in this case there’s a famous chain
of restaurant restaurant that sells some
very delicious fried chicken they are
working they are working with us they
actually designed a whole new drone they
use our base platform of the PCB and the
motors and there they’ve created a whole
new drone for themselves it’s you can go

we also have a professor who’s working
on a scout patrol for soldiers who go
out in urban battle police imagine a
26/11 happening again and you don’t want
your soldiers to go into those closed
spaces blindly you want them to have
more intelligence before before they
storm into a room another professor is
also working on a ver housing solution
integrating the drone into the present
warehousing solutions whereas very very
some of the tasks which are taking seven
minutes or sorry seven hours of time can
be reduced to half an hour of time
saving bringing in a lot more efficiency
in the process if I we also have
iit-bombay
who is building who who’s launched our
drone competition pan india in fact we
we recently held a hackathon with the
Pluto hex that’s come out and we just
gave it to people to experiment and this
is what one person came out with goodie
playlist I don’t know if you can see it
in horizontal but they basically broke
apart the Pluto drone integrated it with
wheels and built a hybrid vehicle a
vehicle that can drive on land and can
take up in air at you not the choice of
the driver
it’s again a prototype but it actually

amphibious is probably not the right
word but you know something that can go
