Donating Smiles! | Shreya Choudhary | TEDxKids@NMS

the great vietnamese author monk peace

activists and spiritual leader dish not

hard once said sometimes your joy could

be the source of your smile but

sometimes your smile can be the source

of your joy helping someone in need is a

noble cause but in today’s hectic

schedule how many of us have the time or

patience to stop by a needy person we

have an excuse ready instead of being

ready to help however what we miss by

not assisting is this smile we would

have received that smile is nothing less

than a trove of treasure which we can

cherish all our life but the bigger

question is why help well as a literal

meaning of compassion put it in the

perspective is the desire to help

someone in suffering or to put it more

precisely as to suffer together well for

all those who have shown or receives

compassion can confirm there is a

heartfelt feeling of gratitude that

someone was by your side to help you and

support you and likewise you’re happy to

help someone selfless help reminds me of

an incident which happened to me a year

ago we were travelling off road to a

tracking side when on the way we had a

flat tire but guess what we didn’t have

a spare tire to replace it the heat was

unbearable there was no habitation

nearby we had a long session of self

coercing until we reach the eventual

point where we had to choose a host

volunteer in the start of a new track

well just then a villager on a cycle

appeared he saw our predicament and

asked us not to worry and wait for his

return we passed an hour singing his

praise we were overjoyed but then

another our past there was no sign of

him and we were about to lose a last row

of hope but then just then the passer

by’s you appeared riding pillion with

the mechanic on a motorbike with two

bottles of water what a relief

he was our Savior we can’t forget the

help we received that there so as my

father sells be a good Samaritan

yourself and the chain of good people

will automatically increase no wonder

you be benefited by the cycle of

compassion the ideal which can change

not only your life but also those nearby

you can be summed up in just one word

compassion compassion so since we all

are compassionate compassionate enough

we all know that we study together good

cities to get into a good college we get

into a good college to get a good job

but then why do we want a good job well

we need a good job we need it to earn

and we needed to buy our daily bread but

if we consider looking at the world

there are seven point four billion

people do all these 7.4 billion people

get into a good college no do they all

in fact even get into a college for most

of them sadly no well education is a

very important part of our life and we

need to embrace it and everybody needs

it but in India in fact in India itself

there 218 million uneducated people yes

today out of these there four hundred

and thirteen thousand six hundred and

seventy-seven beggars they may be in

this state because of the seat

bankruptcy their unwillingness to work

or just because they couldn’t get an

education because we’re being born into

poverty but my friends my question today

to all of you is do you think the

reserve to be secluded or that it

deserved to be dismissed by a wave of

your hands no yeah where are our values

and what very source coming to can t

give a glass of water to the thirsty can

you give a morsel of food to the hungry

can you give a blanket to the cold have

you lost our ethics is this the new

generation to come sadly this is proved

by so we conducted by the University of

Michigan the survey stated there is a

steep decline here after you are in

empathy which is the ability to relate

to each other well I want you all to

reflect on it and think about it today

when you go home is this the life you

want is this a live in next generation

would like people fighting with each

other nobody showing any compassion well

as mandy Hale once said be good to be

boo you’ll be remembered more for your

kind any level of success you could

possibly attain compassion is a smile

more worried less stress less it makes

us feel more loved than more blessed so

choose what you want but I’m sure a wise

person as you would always believed in

compassion is your companion to conclude

my talk today I would like to port and

Frank’s from her diary no one has ever become poor by giving thank you
