about body language and just a little
bit more a little bit more about me I’m
11 years old and I go to Cranbrook boys
middle school okay that was not on
purpose that was totally on purpose so
um
body language can be used for a lot of
things believe it or not um it can be
used to tell how people are feeling know
if people are lying and it can be used
to help people but you may be asking me
to help people how yani please tell me
that’s that’s what I will do right now
um you will do it you could do this if
you know how they feel then you know how
to help because if you can tell if
someone’s sad angry you you just know
how to help if you’ve helped people
before they should be good helping
people now there are various different
types of body language more more than I
will cover today there are some that I
will be covering today like handshakes
arm placement and facial expressions
believe it or not um now let’s start
with handshakes there are five types of
handshakes that I will be covering today
there is the overhand the underhand the
politician Hulk and the mouse yeah so um
the overhand usually signifies that
someone feels more than you which it
would usually look like this and it
could be one of the most common things
you can see it in a lot of people and
when you shake someone’s hand just be
just beware to see that the under hand
is vice versa they feel less than you
and
they don’t feel as confident as you
would be so it would be more to a
downward slope because because every
minor detail could make a big difference
the politician is something very simple
have you ever seen a politician on TV
shake someone’s hand that that’s pretty
much what it is
they shake someone’s hand with two hands
which signifies I’m in power and I’m a
figure of authority and the Hulk is a
very common thing also
it’s where someone shakes your hand so
hard that your bones are about to break
and it usually signifies hey I’m tough
don’t mess with me yeah many people do
that but it usually doesn’t work out too
well the mouse is someone that’s vice
versa
they are usually holding on to your hand
just a little not really gripping onto
your hand which shows that they’re not
confident at a at all or they just don’t
have strong grip arm placement so there
are four types of arm placements that
I’ll be showing today it is the boss the
employee the closed position and the
open position the boss is usually
signifying power the like how bosses are
at meetings and they usually put their
hands down like this and it’s vice versa
with the employee they usually are kind
of timid because they don’t want to try
to show off the clothes is when you have
your arms crossed like I’m like I would
do right now it’s showing that you are
not open and kind of not feeling
confident ish in that moment and open is
vice versa you’re open to suggestions
criticism things like that and you feel
pretty confident hand placement there
are four types of hands placements that
I will show today
there is the hands of pockets thumbs in
pockets the raise step alone the lowered
Snapple the hands and pockets usually
can either mean two things one it can be
just casual just like casual relaxed but
also if it’s some more signified and
harder and aggressive hands and pockets
it usually means that they’re probably
mad
um the thumbs and pockets could mean the
same thing of it could either mean
casual like this or mad depending on how
they do it the raised up alone the
lowered step I pretty much very similar
things as you can see missive mr.
president is doing that and it usually
signifies that he’s listening and
thinking those are what the two-step
also our facial expressions these are
pretty much self-explanatory because if
they have a smile on the face they’re
probably happy as shown here if that
it’s not necessarily a frown if they’re
so if they have like a neutral
expression that probably means that
they’re either sad or not feeling
anything and angry you can usually tell
oh um that it would be the last slide
and thank you for listening to me speak [Applause]
