seven year ago I didn’t know anything
about this paper this paper is exists
for more than 800 years I didn’t know
anything about it when I started my
social enterprise and today I think many
of you like even if you don’t really
love what you do and your job whatever
is far too because I have been in that
place many time in my life today I want
to tell you the secret of my life how I
can be able to do what I love to do it’s
not an easy job
when I first agree it’s from my school I
study business accord on that am I the
only thing I know is I really love to
learn languages and I think business
when I start earning foreign Chad
University
it’s the only thing I think about is I
want to go around the war I want to see
the war and that’s all
but after Greece for my school I went to
visit this war and I didn’t like it at
all after three years working I’m just
like I don’t like to go every day and
fighting for only money
so I escaped to France and study my
master about management when I came back
from France I the only thing I want to
do is I want to bring my business skill
to help my community and when I come by
I trying to search everything about
nonprofit sector we should I don’t know
anything about it when I came back from
Vietnam I really don’t know anything
about nonprofit sector it’s the only
thing I want is I study a lot about NGO
and I just realized that not many people
in the NGO sector have a business
background and I searching for many
projects and many projects are have been
failed why I think because for giving a
sustainable livelihoods for the people
it need for more than one or three years
of the project duration and most of
times the funding cycle is so sharp I’m
looking for more than ten years in the
NGO sector and realized after even we
trying so hard to implement our project
in the village and after we go to
project finish and everything is gone
it’s so difficult for the villager to
follow what you implementing before you
have so many resource you have all the
people who have a capacity knowledge and
skill and when you get out of the
village is how it’s difficult for the
people to keep that job so I’ve been
always searching for can I do it better
do we have any better solution so that
is how I start my social enterprise
that’s all people that many people
asking me am my own artist I’m not of
course and because people most people
think when you start up the business you
have to start with something you really
good at it the 7 year ago that I tell
you I don’t know anything about this
paper I know only this paper I got to
know through a friend of me she he came
back from Germany and he asked me like
you can you support me to have some Cali
careful in Vietnam to bring these
traditional back to the Vietnamese
society it’s a very beautiful idea so I
wanted to support him so that is when I
first came to the paper village it’s
about 40 kilometers from here from Hanoi
and when it came there I’m so impressed

got only 20 dollars to make one thousand

struggling to survive with my business
background
I’m just asking myself this is really
beautiful paper why is not going
so I’m going to search a lot about a
market of this paper and as us realize
there’s a market for it but only because
we don’t bring this paper in our life
and that’s why it’s going to die so I
want to do something about this but it’s
so difficult because I have so much fear
I have a very comfortable job I was a
project manager for a political
foundation from Germany have good salary
you go traveling around the war I have a
good working environment I have nothing
complain about my job and data but this
paper in this village is keep upset my
mind all the time I said do we really
have a better solution to have a
community so can I follow my heart it’s
a very difficult decision for me in that
time so three years ago I met two
friends and since I’d say oh I want to
work for you I want to save the
traditional paper I said yeah but come
on I have my job I cannot create my job
is it’s a very good job any people do
dream about it every book people dream
about my job so I don’t know what to do
so I said okay come on come to my house
I have a lot of this paper because it’s
touching for it so much but I don’t know
what to do for and I they came to my
house and for six months I said like
okay trying to do everything about this
paper and convince me this is good is
what to save it and slowly I start to go
apart because so fear keeping me hey no
it’s not going to work it’s so difficult
you know it already it had been even 10
years how many work do you have done for
the community and now you are alone you
don’t know anything about this favor so
every time when you follow the heart
it’s a brain or way telling you it’s not
going to work
it’s very normal I think and I think
many of you is our life you have been in
that place it’s not easy so today I
think we we trying to treat last year to
warm very hearts so when I start you
about social enterprise I’m just
thinking maybe it’s assets go tomorrow
to come by for the business deal and
some good hearts so you can be able to
achieve some social issue you care about
but you have to go efficiency like a
business school or doing so that’s what
I come to realize because when we we do
business is amiss this business right
business you have to when you spend one
single hands of money you have to think
how much benefit you get from it and
that’s about efficiency I think so when
the social enterprise so this one phrase
about social enterprise I love it is
social enterprise is not about giving
the fish it’s about teach them how to
fish
so I always approach in my mind when I
walk with my village we have like we
just only the bridge so our social
enterprises as the bridge between the
community is a village and the market we
are like we started about the markets we
telling our religion so this is the
market this is the people love about it
and how you can improve the quality to
fit to that need of the market like how
you can be able to to reach the
international market and how you can
increase our standard to get higher
quality and every day every day every
single day we we work with them we
telling them handmade it’s not about
doing some something this very low value
and me you can do very high quality if
you do it a good attention so today we
have
– village – what with us more than 10
family we can create in job life for
more than 20 family in the boat village
and we planning to go to another new
village in the next two years we been
trying to bring all the paper products
to the village and we also going to
develop tourism as well with paper
making so if one day you want to go to
the paper making village let’s let me
know and so how I can do that I of
course I have my wonderful team beside
me and also I think also a lot of
international and national volunteer
come to help us but today I want to
share with you the secret I think
because every time when you trying to
follow what you love so so much fear
inside how you can overcome that fear
and my experience is go straight to the
fear and I think you have to option
first sometime is there some fear I’m
working on I think like something you
have to accept is to be a part of
yourself you cannot get rid of it hold
your life so for example I’m really
afraid of water when I’m small – Tom I
sing in the world and I almost die
so I remember the feeling under the
world or like something I don’t know
like something I’m going to die I’m
going to die
so I trying to learn to stream so many
time I couldn’t do it it’s so hard I’m
just dealing oh my god says something
under me then I’m just like long – year
I couldn’t scream at all and this is so
much fear in sigh I don’t know what I
feel about and I went directly to learn
guiding and while I’m diving what is
happening I see under the word so
amazing or like fish but everything
around me so my
we often fear of what we don’t know that

and then from after that experience I
always tried to go directing to read my
fear to see what I’m feeling well so for
example when I afraid of attitude I
don’t like to look now and it’s so hard
I’m just alone to climb so high learn to
plow I don’t know anything about
plumbing I’m just going to climb on the
top of the mountain with all equipment
and everything so the same when I love
diving I don’t know streaming so I go to
the water I don’t know even where I’m
going I don’t know how to swim so for
that for climbing the same I climb in
the mountain I look at this so scared
but when I look around so beautiful all
the landscapes a breeze of the wind on
the face a feeling of freedom and I just
like I’m her friend so then I’m I don’t
even know I didn’t learn how to get now
actually I don’t know how to get down so
I forgot to learn how to get out because
you were so eager to learn how to clown
and you don’t learn how to get out so I
have someone to bring me up down to the
mountain it’s so funny this is my first
time and after that I trying to learn
everyday to learn how to climb so come

learn very quickly and I think to be
able to do what you don’t know is fine
sometimes in life you could do that but
a lot of fear stop you to follow the
heart gives us take a deep breath and
asking ourselves like what I’m going to
do with this and you you you just take
out up to fear go deep in your fear and
go over it and if you go over the fear
you have to option my life I said before
the first option you can go over the
fear you get into the fear you get
confident and you get over the fear but
sometime you cannot get rid of it
sometimes it’s so strong and you cannot
get rid of it and you have to accept
that number a part of your life and try
to bring all the positive about it so
for example three years ago I got an
accident a motorbike and since I alway
afraid ABI hire someone on motor by I’m
just like oh wait I’m sorry say hey
you’re going to hit them no and I wait
like I’m driving I’m behind but I’m
driving the people who drive or guide me
on my back so I’m like I’m all waiting
in advance I are we going to heat that
person we are because I I have traumatic
in my life so I saw like okay I’m not
going to have another accident again so
I break my shoulder badly so suck javi I
worked so long so long
since even today I’m still doing that
but much less so I just every time when
I fear I’m just take a deep breath and I
say well I’m fear about I fear that’s
the worst thing maybe I’m going to die
so you think about the worst case happen
when I start my social enterprise about
our paper I said okay I quit my job I’m
going to do something I don’t know the
worst case is fail and what I can do
with I fail so you think about the worst
case how you deal with that and you go
through that process and that is how I
think we always have faced in our life
so today I think um don’t know like it
is a successful or not but I can tell
you this I’m very happy to be able to do
what I have been thinking about so long
term I tried so many different solution
that is to bring really what I have
flied my knowledge and really go for the
community lots of other people and I
think social enterprise is quite perfect
model for me at the moment to really go
up and give us a sustainable livelihood
for the people and about this I think I
don’t know it is something you have to
work on it or not but I think if you can
be able to take ours off here and then
