I chose a theme that I have been thinking a lot.
I love technology, and if we stop to observe,
more and more technologies are achieving
if it updates automatically.
There are buttons that you can push to leave an autoupdate.
So, for example, if you have on your phone some apps
you can talk to the phone itself set up,
for it to update itself automatically.
Even cars, nowadays. Who knows the new Tesla?
One fine day, the people who had Tesla woke up and he was driving alone
to the garage
So now you already have a car updating itself automatically by software.
But we, as a human being, in a world that has changed so much,
how can we auto-update automatically?
Let me explain this idea a little bit, because it seems a bit daunting.
Every minute we are learning, but sometimes people
has a switch on or the switch is off.
How can we, without realizing it,
automatically,
to be able to actualize ourselves at every moment and transform every moment
a good opportunity for what we most want in our lives?
The world has changed so fast that I took the mission to me,
along with my team, of being able to work like people
learn differently,
how people think differently, and especially how people apply
what they learn in what they most want to accomplish in life.
That’s what my companies do and I’ve been thinking a lot
How can I bring it to my life then.
I have some premises that I take for this,
and this is what I want to share with you today.
First thing: the power of the bond.
And at that moment, I want to ask for permission,
which is the permission I’ve been asking lately,
to be able to update me more quickly.
The permission to be intense.
What happens: sometimes we get full of fingers,
and I’m not saying grossly or directly,
I’m saying intense in a way that you can
to be intensely connected with your truth.
If you can be intensely connected with your truth,
when you’re at a meeting, when you’re at a lecture like I’m here,
you can pass, with much more clarity,
that which is authentic to you.
And, from things that look small,
Like when we go on a job interview.
and can not be intense about what you believe
and ends up in the wrong place; even much more important things.
Like when you can not find passion for what you are doing,
can not create a link in that,
to keep moving forward when it’s all hard.
I believe very much in the power of the bond.
And bonding is important in several, diverse, diverse places.
There are several researches, which are very interesting:
the more bond a person has with things she really loves,
more freedom she has to be able to turn around in what she loves the most.
This sounds ironic, but that is very, very powerful.
So, I want permission to be intense with you today.
I want permission to speak to you today as if I might never speak again.
As if maybe I would die later today,
and being extremely honest with what I think. Do I have permission?
Plateia: Yes!
Beauty, then let’s do it!
Second thing I always think has to do with getting things
that already exist in the world, but looking at that
and within that by taking away something that is good for you.
There are things that strike our heart,
there are things that take us out of the comfort zone,
but there’s always something you can get away with.
The power of observation is incredible.
And I really like to observe, even, how people update themselves.
I want to give you two examples.
There are extremely intense people,
who really enjoy going to extremes.
I, once, last year, I got stuck in a program that you
a week without eating taking only chlorophyll, and my point here is that you do not need
stay a week here without eating, taking chlorophyll.
But there are people who like to learn in the extreme.
Do you need to learn in the extreme?
No, but observing how these people learn
and taking perhaps components of it, you can bring it to you.
Today was much talked about children here, children are fascinating,
because if you notice, they have a mechanism that they always update.
They are always looking for something and if you stop to observe,
they are always “self-defying,” they are always kind of “self-relieving”
the comfort zone; they do not know the answer, they are not afraid.
They go there, they try, they seek an answer.
It went wrong, they keep looking for that answer and, often, together.
The children cooed.
This is very interesting.
So you can look at different worlds and, not necessarily,
copy that world for you, but look for something or other
that exists in that world that can be applied to you.
Do not discard directly.
Sometimes we think, “Oh, that’s not for me, that’s not for me …”
Instead of simply judging in this way,
looks with learning look, with that enchanted look,
who can find something in between the lines,
that may be interesting for your life.
The third point I want to tell you,
has to do with zero hierarchy.
I’ll explain it a little better.
Of course, everyday we have to have priorities,
does not give time to do everything that we want to do.
However, people sin to look at one moment of the week,
thinking that it is more important than the other,
or look at one idea and discard it, thinking it is less important than another.
Or, think that one person may be less relevant to you than another.
It happens in so many, so many moments.
Who does not have a friend here, you open Facebook earlier in the week,
It’s Monday morning, and your friend posted, “Friday comes ‘ni’ me?”
That slaps in the face of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday!
It is not? Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is also life.
I also see many people sometimes at events,
that they have an event they want to see one or another person,
and in the middle of the road they know someone.
Except that person is astonished, because it was not who wanted to know,
and can not be present in the present,
and sometimes misses a fair opportunity to meet the best person for her.
Apart from the hierarchy of ideas, this one I think is the worst of all.
If you hierarchize ideas, you are lost.
There’s an interesting story in a book I like a lot,
which is called “Disguised Opportunities”, in fact I love this concept
of disguised opportunities, in which Carlos Domingos, who is the author,
an industry that needed to be reinvented.
They were not closing the accounts, because of the price of that product,
then all the executives were recruited for an emergency meeting,
to find some great idea,
to get the industry out of the problem I was living.
Idea comes, idea goes, nothing was coming out, until there was someone,
who was simply, indeed, sweeping the floor of the meeting, who asked,
“And does the product really need packaging?”
And so, as often ideas are hierarchical, they looked and said:
“Of course you do.” They dismissed the idea.
Only one person said, “No, no, wait there, wait there,
let’s think about it: “Do you really need packaging?”
The product in question was tires.
Tires, some decades ago, had packages, to differentiate the product.
And then there was the balcony that you could put a lot of information on the tire,
on the tire itself.
The truth is, every moment is very important,
every person you know is very important,
every idea that appears can become a very important idea.
And if you start to hierarchize your moments,
to hierarchize your life, you miss the chance to live that moment.
We know that sometimes, some crucial moments of our life,
we just notice that they were crucial when we look back and say:
“Wow, what a turning point.”
Now, imagine if that crucial moment were not lived,
imagine if you, at that moment, even better, by living intensely,
noticing at the moment that it is a crucial moment,
and manages to make the best of it while it happens.
This is what happens when you do not time hierarchize.
So it’s very, very important that we do not hierarchize.
I really like to learn, even about all subjects.
One of the things that most helps me in all my business,
is a keen curiosity of always wanting to learn independently of that subject.
And this subject, supermistificado, this subject that is: creativity,
it seems that only a few are creative; creativity is a matter of repertoire.
You want to be creative, listen to everyone with the same interest.
and tries to learn from everyone to create a repertoire
for you to generate connections between things that seem disconnected.
This is what will make you different, really.
So, hierarchization of moments, of people, of affairs is nothing.
It will not make you get better.
Another thing I always take with me has to do with allowing myself.
You will learn many things.
that will get you out of that common sense you had.
I am an electronic engineer and computer scientist, by training.
I’m supertechnique, I started my career programming
and now I have a school and work with education.
And I like the behavioral side, a lot!
I was super skeptical of it.
If I, because of ego, because of anything else, would say:
“I can not allow myself to recreate my world,” I was going to lose so much in this life.
You need to allow your world to be recreated when you learn something
that it makes sense to change what was being seen before.
This is very important, including vulnerability is very important.
When you are vulnerable, it is not something to be ashamed of,
It’s interesting, you’re showing that you have the humility to grow.
The problem is if you do not have the humility to grow, then you stagnate.
Because nobody, of course, has arrived in a place that can never grow.
So vulnerability, recreate your world in search of your best version,
This is very, very, very important.
Now, when I say all this,
you have to pick up and get what works for your world.
I am giving here some examples that, for me, work.
I think it’s very important that when you decide what you want to do,
or you do it in a big way or you fall out and try something else.
Now, doing it in a big way is a unique concept to each one.
Each has a way of looking at what is great.
For some people, great can be to create a company that touches one billion people.
For someone else, it could be, to be the best mother in the world.
For another, it may be these two things.
The point is, you have to respect what is great of the other person.
You can not belittle what is great about the other person.
And if you did not find your big one, you need to find your big one because,
you have a thousand reasons not to do something today, you have a thousand reasons.
If your reasons for doing something are not clear,
you will not keep doing, you will give up.
So what you want and why you want to have to be very clear,
otherwise your great, in your way, will never be realized.
My big, I have the staff and the professional,
which were, in fact, the last two examples I gave.
In professional life, I have a very big dream,
that our businesses touch a billion lives. How do we want to play them?
By helping people take steps toward their dreams,
that’s what we do and that’s what we want to keep doing.
We’ve touched 30 million people in the last five years.
There’s a lot more to do, but we’re always in that dream,
in the dream of being able to reach the: “Let’s go big, let’s not give up, let’s go big”.
But I have my “why”, this is very important to me.
Now, every year, there is always a question that is the one I take the most with me.
I always carry with me.
And this year, the question that got most in my head,
is: “What remains of everything we do?”
Let’s assume that what I said is true, that we are intense,
we have our why,
that we know what he wants to do, and he knows what the big one is.
You do a lot of things, we’re here,
taking time to learn a lot of things …
What’s left? What will you stay after that day?
It is very important that you can apply what you learn
in what is most relevant to you.
People have a million artifices for productivity,
but do not apply what they learn,
which is the most important; or discard what does not work.
It’s very important.
I think nowadays nobody else wants to build an empire.
We want to build a legacy.
For us to build a legacy, you need to stop and think
in how everything you live can apply to help you build this legacy.
Because we all already have access to many things
that can help us build that legacy.
Now, we’ll only be able to do that if we’re practical.
I see a lot of people theorizing, I see a lot of people complaining instead of acting.
Is there anything you do not like?
He tries to change, he can not, but he is not influencing you either,
leave a little there instead of spending your time complaining about it.
And focus on what you can positively influence
for who knows later to influence that too.
The very premises that I have spoken that I take with me, if I am not practical,
I will find that all are impossible, I will find problem at all.
The premises that you will find for you, if you are not practical,
You’re going to crash and you’re not going to do anything.
So it’s very important that we be practical.
Now, one thing for me that is very interesting,
is that when we talk about how I can constantly update myself,
It’s not something I do alone. It’s something I do with everyone.
And here we are in a perfect environment
for everyone to help each other to self-actualize.
This is already happening in the exchange of the stage with the audience, from the audience to the stage.
But I want it to happen in everyone’s exchange with everyone.
So I invite you to do the following
When you leave here, go to enkla.com.br/oqueaprendi.
Leave there a balcony you had today,
which is an apprenticeship that can be useful for something,
and this collaborative platform will be available for everyone to see the balconies.
The most voted, we will transform into a collaborative book,
free, translated into several languages, made here today by you
and this is my vision of how, through the world of writing,
we can update together.
There is “crowdsourcing”, there is “crowdfunding”,
there is still “crowdpublishing”.
Everyone publishing together what has been best applied to their life.
And that’s my vision for my publisher.
We want to be the biggest “crowdpublishing” platform in the world.
We want to find the best people in the world,
to find out what they learned,
which they can also add so that you can learn,
what you can share with others,
so that everyone can grow together every time.
When you are living, ask for permission to be intense.
Seek, really, the reason you have to do something.
If you have much reason not to do something,
Make it very clear why you should do something.
I’m crazy to see the balconies you had here,
because I had many in each of the lectures.
I always think that maybe there are 20 people here on stage.
But if each of you were given the chance to be here,
you would have something incredible to share with us.
So, thank you for everyone who is here today,
and thank you for the opportunity to share a little bit of my world with you.
Thanks! Thanks!
