When something seems interesting, beautiful,
There is a natural motivation to want to pick it up and keep it.
It means that in this day and age we are likely to take our phones to take a picture.
Although this may seem an ideal solution,
But there is a big problem associated with it.
We’re probably too busy taking pictures,
And forget to look at the world that paid us for its beauty and interest
Take the picture in the first place.
These problems seem to be too many today
As a result of the small phones in our pockets.
But they will notice quite early in the history of photography
When the average size of the camera was the size of the grandfather clock.
The first to be noticed was the British English critic John Ruskin.
He was impressed with the cameras
Initially
But gradually he became very suspicious because
His belief that they are depriving us of seeing what is around us.
Try to correct this blocking.
Ruskin recommended drawing attention
And not with the goal of becoming a great artist
But simply because through this act we are trying to reconfigure
What we see in the world on paper.
We study it in a manner we have not done before
When we take pictures simply.
And a summary of what Ruskin tried to do during four years of teaching and writing brochures
He wrote:
“Let two people go out for a walk”
“One is a good painter, the other has no inclination for this art”
“Let them go to a green corridor”
“There will be a big difference in the scene as seen by two people”
“Who will see the passage and trees, will say that the trees are green”
“And yet, he will not think of anything”
“He will see that the sun is shining, and that it has a pleasant effect”
“That’s it.”
“But what will the painter see?”
“His eye is used to looking for the cause of beauty”
“The most accurate parts of magic and beauty.”
“Looks high and notes how the sun is divided as a result of rain showers”
“And come scattered among the glossy papers on top of it”
“To fill the air with emerald light,”
“It is possible to see here and there a branch emerging from the paper veil,”
“He will see the glitter of a jewel of emerald moss,”
“Colorful fantasy eucalyptus,”
“White, blue, purple, red,”
“All of them are ripe and combined in a suit of beauty.”
“Then come the deep logs, twisted roots,”
“Which embraces with its snake-like coils in a steep row,”
“The grassy slope is studded with thousands of floral dyes.”
“Is not it worth watching?”
“So, if not a painter will pass along the green road,”
“When you return home, you will have nothing to say or think about,” he said.
“But you may have come down a narrow path of some kind.”
