The concept of “higher man” is one of the strangest and most magical philosophical ideas.
We find that it was formulated by Friedrich Nietzsche in his 1883 book: “Thus Zoroaster spoke.”
At first sight, we can only think of the action hero (Superman)
Which his makers described as “faster than a bullet”
“Stronger than a locomotive” and “able to overtake high-rise buildings with one jump.”
This is actually a very good starting point.
DC Comics were asking themselves …
What would a person look like if he were physically superior to all present humans?
(Nietzsche) asks himself a very similar question, but is interested in psychological qualities.
In (so Zoroaster spoke), Nietzsche points out that evolution can not be assumed to have ended.
Human beings evolved from apes, but he asks, What is a monkey for man?
In some ways, such as imagination and science, we are obviously far superior to our predecessors
How can people in the future be higher than we are today?
The task of Nietzsche’s character, Zoroaster, is to guess what the “higher man” – the most advanced person in the future – will be.
Nietzsche was not interested in the highly developed brain capacity,
Or the ability to perform complex operations in the human head,
Or to learn a language in three days.
Instead, he was developing a crucial intellectual experience
Suppose we are more psychologically advanced than the rest of humans at the moment, how will we be?
What kind of person is ideal?
It came with a very sudden and provocative response,
Nietzsche’s strategy to answer his own question was to identify the person he most admired
The person who thinks it is the best wire approach in life,
Then sharpen the qualities that formed this person the way they were.
He was clearly impressed with (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)
Which he considered the most close to being a human being.
This was also done by Napoleon, Montaigne, Voltaire, and Julius Caesar.
He concluded that the “higher human” individuals would have some wonderful and sometimes unexpected characteristics.
They will make their own values.
Their thinking will be very independent.
They will not ask, “What do others like ?, and what will they follow?”
They will carve their own way.
(Supreme Man) accepts the idea of hurting people for great things.
It can be selfish in strategic ways.
“Greatness” for them would be to reform humanity towards pagan values
– Goethe values.
(Higher human) will not be dissatisfied with the success of others.
Will accept suffering as an essential element of good things.
They will understand that it is difficult to understand,
Thus, they are often alone.
They will be kind to the weak,
Out of awareness of their great power.
They will be a little negative about sex according to traditional standards.
They will not be humble, but instead, they will be happy with their own abilities.
They will be interested in the practical application of culture to raise the mentality of society.
Nietzsche thinks we will be surprised and sometimes slightly shocked by his list.
I think we will be waiting for him to be a very compassionate person
Very fair, not interested in competition, and perhaps has ambitions to achieve achievements in science.
But Nietzsche was discussing something else
Being great requires some qualities that are a bit annoying
Also, this greatness means being interested in the salvation of humanity through culture.
The word (top human) is useful to get us to thinking …
About what we want to evolve into.
Each of us must, under the direction of (Nietzsche), have a sense of what he wants to be …
If we can be a human being higher than ourselves.
The idea of ”higher man” helps us to refine our ambitions.
