LITERATURE – George Orwell

George Orwell
Is an English thinker who died in 1950.
He exploited literature – for the ultimate reason for which he was created –
To try to change the world for the better.
He was – in his deepest instincts – a political writer,
Someone who wanted art to help us grow more kindly, just, and wise.
In 1946, a year after the publication
His wide-spread symbolic “Animal Farm”
He wrote an article entitled “Why do I write”
In which his symbols were deciphered with clear features.
What I wanted to do over the last ten years
Is the integration of political writing into art.
My starting point is always a feeling of partisan bias, a sense of injustice.
When I begin to write a book, I do not say to myself “I will produce a work of art”
“I write because there are some lies that I want to reveal, some facts that I want to draw attention to,
My main concern is to be verified “
To understand Orwell’s concerns,
We must necessarily take into account what I love this writer who is most interested in politics,
And what he hated.
What he was opposing, and which he was advocating.
This will give us the keys to understand his outstanding works,
And his life is painful and painful at the same time.
George Orwell disliked the persistence of the class of society – which was in the end
A typical member – thinkers.
Early in his life, he wanted to become a writer.
But George Orwell has never been.
Born in India in 1903,
Which was then part of the British Empire,
For parents working in the civil service with a low physical income,
Who fought for him to get the upbringing of the upper class English.
Hoping to become a lawyer or a doctor.
At the age of eight, he enrolled in an English school that proved to be sterile and inflexible.
Through which he received a scholarship in Eaton.
But he turned on the values and teachings of the general English school system.
He never went to the university, and after serving as a policeman in Burma’s imperial army, he was content with an uncompromising work in intellectual and moral life,
He works in the Hampstead Library, reviews the writings of others,
Recently he wrote a few books.
Nevertheless, Orwell’s contempt for intellectuals has not stopped,
Accused them of a series of sins, lack of patriotism, discontent with money,
Physical strength, concealment of sexual frustration, demonstration and dishonesty.
He knew all this from within, but the greatness of Orwell arose from the firm will
Which he knew and won against similar tendencies within him.
“The very important truth about the educated English elite – books once – is their interruption
On the general culture of the State “.
In the circles of the political left, there is always a sense that it is shameful to be an English person,
There must be mockery of any English behavior, from horse racing to pudding.
Orwell’s generation of intellectuals – who witnessed World War I and the Great Depression –
Obsessed with large schemes, and delusional, and abstract to save humanity.
Some of them were fanatical Communists, others were sincere defenders of extreme capitalism, few were impressed
The new tyrannical regimes in Italy, Spain and Germany, and wanted something similar
To take control of the Anglo-American states.
Orwell listened to all this, and was somewhat fascinated by it.
But he gradually returned to advocating something far more extreme:
Tastes, opinions, needs, and the look of someone he called “the average person”
Knowledge of normal life
Was somewhat late for Orwell.
As a typical product of an English public school,
Was almost unknown to anyone below his social class,
In addition to his introverted nature, his fondness for books, and his shyness.
One of his friends described him at the age of twenty-five
“Remarkably old-fashioned for someone of his age”
But Orwell began to compensate for his lack of knowledge
Gradually he became the greatest defender
For whom he has repeatedly called ordinary life.
The lives of people, not happy by means of material in particular,
People who work in normal jobs, have not received much education,
They will not reach greatness,
However, they love, care about others,
Work, enjoy, raise children, have great ideas for the deepest questions,
In ways I think Orwell is extraordinarily brilliant.
Orwell’s journey into ordinary life began,
In the spring of 1928.
When he gave the privileges of his social class behind his back, he went to work in a range of simple service works
In the capitals of France and England.
Experiments were to tell her in his book,
“Decadence and homelessness in Paris and London” was published in 1933.
The book was filled with emotion, and pictures of life behind the drawers of hotels and restaurants
Cuddling, camaraderie, humor, and warmth.
Among a group of cleaners or shoe cleaners or waiters or chefs
And seasonal prostitutes.
It was part of life that Orwell wanted to examine more.
In a book dating his travels around the coal mining industry in northern England
In 1937 titled,
“The Way to Wigan Pier”
Again, without passion or arrogance,
Orwell gave a broad, focused look
On the people he met, and concluded that the homes of residents of the village to extract coal
Contains more intelligence and wisdom
From the British Council of Ministers or the Supreme Council of Oxbridge College.
Orwell particularly likes the absence of arrogance and hypocrisy
Among the ordinary people he met.
One thing the person notices – books – if he looks directly at the general public
Especially in major cities,
Is that they are not inflexible.
They are rooted conspirators, drinking beer as much as their salaries allow,
They love rude jokes, and they use perhaps the most bad language in the world.
At that time, as now, there was a lot of news in the newspapers about ordinary people.
But Orwell realized that the news tended to be abstract.
He felt that his role as required by his profession as a journalist literally,
Is to embody human beings from behind the statistics.
Thus correcting bias and casual racism that have spread throughout the region.
In an article he wrote during a trip to Morocco
Orwell sarcastically wrote about the usual view of new settlers among travelers
Towards the local population.
“People here have a brown face,
There are many of them, are they really the same flesh as you are “
Do they even have names?
Or are they just a kind of indistinguishable from other things? “
Almost like bees or coral insects.
All people working with their hands are partially invisible.
As important as the work they do,
As far as their backs are lower.
Orwell’s love for the “ordinary” aroused his curiosity
On several topics that are not usually taken into account in literature.
Meditated and written in praise of humor, hiking in the villages,
Dancing, and roses.
He wrote bravely in defense of English food
Smoked fish, yoghurt, lipofasher butter, cakes, pancakes, books.
Then he asked, was there anywhere other than English cuisine
Do you see the French fries under the meat?
Which is undoubtedly the best way to cook them.
Orwell wrote passionately in defense of Charles Dickens
At a time when this great writer
Is considered too limited and too well known to the general public to be appreciated by intellectuals.
In a great article written in 1946,
“Politics and English”,
Naor Orwell is ideal for thinkers,
Arrogant and delusional with long luxury words
He defended writing in a simple or almost naïve manner.
He summarized a set of rules for writing as it should,
Which included a final ban
For fancy words such as “Phenomenon”,
“Cutie”
“Taken”
“Intransigent” and “certain”.
Orwell expressed his hatred for foreign words such as
The status quo and supernatural power.
He concluded,
That in fact there is no need for one of the hundreds of foreign phrases currently circulating in English.
George Orwell today has a great reputation thanks to two books, which played a very small role in his life,
If the measurement is simply based on years.
He wrote “Animal Farm” in 1945
At the age of 42, the publication of “1984”
In 1949 at the age of 45.
But died in January 1950
At the age of only 46.
In other words, in only four short years
Orwell was the one we know today.
However, these two books were based on deep thought
O’Reilly had exercised during his life
On how literature should be written in film time and social communication.
In short, he knew that the task of the writer
Is to ensure that the ideas are very serious to the general public.
Double action, which requires special talent and intelligence.
“Animal Farm” is a political plot that reveals how revolutions fall prey to counterrevolution,
They neglect their original ideas.
It really draws the course of the French Revolution,
European revolutions in 1948 and the Russian Revolution of 1917.
But with such a narrative, no one will stand outside the few academics
Trouble reading it.
Aruel’s genius was to form the narrative
Which can carry his story to a large audience, and can understand – as formulated –
Almost anyone.
So Orwell did what Eisop, Walt Disney, Lafontaine, Beatrix Potter and others did.
It is to tell a story about humans by animals.
In the context, Orwell revealed that the sins of the rebels
Is not restricted to participants in real revolutions.
Certainly, it is a permanent possibility that man will believe when led by ideals
Then he will be completed with all their treachery.
Now that a revolution has failed, people remember the “animal farm” and claim it was a prelude to its era.
Very predictable.
This is the splendor of Orwell’s character story.
By cutting off all contemporary human connections,
Orwell discovered a way to tell us about ourselves
At all times, even for the future.
He has also re-invented the narrative,
Orwell, in a stunning explosion of creativity,
He also recreated the science fiction novel.
As a boy, I loved novels by Herbert George Wells.
Especially “Time Machine” and “War of the Worlds”.
Like Wells, Orwell explored the intellectual trends of his time
Try to imagine how it can develop in the long run.
His virtual novel began on an airstrip.
A place formerly known as Great Britain,
But it is now a territory in the great state of Oceania.
And was restricted by the permanent intellectual conflict with two other groups,
Eurasia
East Asia.
Like all the great novels of Dystopia,
Orwell’s book was an attempt to warn his community
About its disturbing trends.
For example, he could see that it would terrorize a country
Not so much direct torture or clumsy clandestine restrictions on freedom of expression,
But also citizens
By sophisticated entertainment, and empty newsletters.
All covered by a continuous remembrance of freedom.
Thus, in “1984” the community is full of new machines of attention,
And the screens present everywhere that the citizens addicted,
Which spies on them at the same time.
Julia, the prominent female figure in the novel,
Working in one of the ministries of government called “Ministry of truth”
Which misleads access to information in a systematic and very precise manner.
In order to blind the citizens of their slavery,
Julia runs a typewriter.
Next to films nominated by sex
Yellow newspapers contain almost nothing but sport, crime, and astrology.
However, citizens do not feel they are enslaved.
As Orwell realized with distinction,
The most intelligent and sinister systems in the modern world
They are not the dictatorial regimes.
They are the regimes that demonstrate democracy
Which gives its citizens the sense of being free,
While in fact, blinded them
Continuous sexual arousal, and emotional distillation.
George Orwell possessed wisdom to make himself remarkably relevant to the future.
He was overwhelmed by abstract economic and political ideas.
He soon began the reality of ordinary life.
The fact of sex, food, money, love, and pleasure.
Written clearly full
On permanent themes rooted in human nature.
Perhaps, he is the most serious and successful English writer of the 20th century.
And gave us the tools to continue to imagine
What writing should be in our time.
In the end, Orwell’s letter
Is the same appeal he has discovered from all the writings of Charles Dickens.
In an article he wrote about
By saying, humans must improve behavior.
This, he pointed out, is either very monotonous
Or is simply the most important guidance in life.
Orwell’s genius was to remind us of course
And no doubt, the latter.
