Volcano Erupts: Lava Rivers Flow | National Geographic

but we’re witnessing today this
afternoon is really wonderful we’re
watching the beginning of a volcanic
eruption we have seen this big ass
growing and growing and growing and now
something great it’s getting dark we can
see some reflections of the base when
they in the next days we will confirm II
will give you more information but
certainly is a great experience great
great great I was resting at home and I
guess I got a phone call from a friend
saying that the volcano Geron erupting
the first couple of days the eruption
started no one was allowed up at all we
chartered a vessel and went over to the
night it was really magnificent the
whole sky was lit up you could see this
mountain of lava coming out of the event
itself and rivers coming pouring down
into the caldera as it reached the cold
air of floor much as the lava flow
cooled and became black that you can see
the glittering red rocks below it from
the rim of the caldera and looking down
it was looking down at a city at night
from from a plane or something so it was
a very spectacular experience you can
actually get pretty close if you don’t
find the heat and the fumes I didn’t get
nearly as close as they did because I
found that the fumes were beginning to
fear my lungs and nose and making my
eyes tear so I I kept my distance but I
guess tweeder I was not hindered by that
amazing shots of it the dishes are very
very sensitive work implemented you’ve
really learned to expect the unexpected
I kept telling our guests that I would
not leave Galapagos until I’ve seen my
eruption well I’ve seen an eruption now
that I still don’t think of leaving it
was such a mind-blowing experience to
see this eruption and it makes me very
glad to live in a place so you can
actually that kind of experience
