alright awesome day today pretty crazy
busy this morning we woke up in a snow
shelter on top of the world literally
and you know our shelter worked great
he’s pretty cool we actually made snow
blocks out of you know with the snow
shovels and stacked them up and got our
our tarp spread over with an avalanche
probe great little shelter slept great
and started trekking across the snow
making good time again saw the
Mountaineers today which is always kind
of eerie when you see another team that
close but you know if it comes down to a
footrace I think we can get them so i
guess i’m glad they’re within sight not
way ahead of us they took what look like
kind of a gamble of a route with a
really nasty steep climb i mean looking
at the map i don’t see how they did that
without doing some serious scrambling up
a rock or something anyway i’m good
traveling later in the day we actually
got kind of cliffed out which sucks when
that happens but again with the maps we
got it’s kind of hard to see the terrain
it’s the hardest thing about this
expedition a lot of ways you don’t know
what to expect you never been never been
here before typically if you if you go
to a place to do an expedition you study
the terrain you kind of see what you’re
getting into here they kick you out of a
helicopter or a bush plight and say have
fun you know um anyway got cliffed out
and ended up doing a pretty gnarly repel
great great repel honestly everything
works smoothly a little slips and falls
here and there but nothing to write home
about great day got down into some weird
country that looks kind of like Scotland
it’s like a mix between like high alpine
kind of tundra stuff lots of broken off
coach you should i fluffed off rocks
those boulders it’s a little bit of
green grass overlooking an awesome
glacier so I’m great day all and all I
don’t know where we are placement wise
we did see the Mountaineers I believer
in front of them I think we saved a lot
of time with that repel but I you know I
don’t know where they are so all we can
do is go like Matt and hope that’s
enough
