in Phoenix Arizona Chad Hudspeth is
dedicating his life to protecting his
family against an unthinkable enemy the
United States itself he fears a
countrywide lockdown in which getting
out of his house will be key to survival
so he’s turning his suburban backyard
into what he believes is an underground
lifeline in a situation where people are
trying to force their way into our home
that would be a situation where we have
to decide are we going to try to fight
our way out of it it might be much
easier to just make a stealthy escape
Chad is starting work on an escape plan
in case of a siege from his master
bedroom wall he will construct a
passageway that connects to a bunker
he’ll bury in the backyard but if the
family can’t hold the bunker chad has
another idea a 140-foot tunnel we could
escape to the very back corner of our
yard into our bug-out vehicle and
secretly escape from their tunnel for me
from this from the storage thing that’d
be cool and the girls be like back of
the yard hello have you seen how long
that is I’ve already measured it
the thing about Chad is that he is
constantly thinking he didn’t sleep much
last night he was up thinking this
through the tunnel will be 140 feet long
close to the width of a football field
and run the distance from Chad’s bedroom
wall to a camouflaged exit hatch where
his bug-out Jeep will be hidden but
before he can start major construction
he needs to find materials that can
handle hundreds of pounds of pressure
and not deteriorate over time looking
for some pipe some big pipe for a slide
or what are you doing with it well it’s
actually gonna be like an underground
tunnel we’re gonna try to attach it to a
shelter an underground shelter and then
have like a stealth escape you know
to get out okay that’s a first because
Chad is concerned about secrecy he wants
the pipe to be small enough to blend in
with neighborhood sewer lines but it
must also be big enough to fit his whole
family and give them enough extra space
to keep breathable air flowing so that’s
a 15 inch that’s really small how do you
think you can fit in there no no if you
can’t fit there’s no way we can fit yeah
yeah we’re gonna have to go to the
bigger pipe all right well we need to
see if we can crawl through there but be
my guest all right
I personally wouldn’t want to crawl
through 140 feet of dark pipe how was it
it’s tight there’s no way you can do
smaller than that I don’t think no I
think the 24 inch is gonna be the way to
go yeah
