TIL: Mount St. Helens Has a Baby Volcano Inside It | Today I Learned

if you walk up mount st. helens and you
look down into the crater well you’ll
see as a baby volcano growing within
there the Mount st. Helens volcano
completely blew its top in 1980 it lost
1,300 feet in one eruption and since
then the volcano has been growing
there’s still magma under Mount st.
Helens and it’s still making its way up
slowly to create these domes that we see
in the crater
the dome activity wasn’t very
threatening
it’s simply indicating to us the volcano
is still living and breathing the cicada
can make a sound so loud it can damage
your eardrums
