the grounds in front of the fortress are
already coughing up the mill the kg and
I are thinking that the Naval Academy
nectar might be in the fort itself so kg
and I we make our way across this old
wooden bridge right into the mouth of
this castle and inside there’s like
crumbling bricks tunnels all kinds of
weird stone rooms bring and I make our
way down the hallway and we find the
entrance to a moat that surrounds the
fortress all right here come it’s like a
nectar bucket that’s been collecting all
the Jews that’s fallen into it over the
centuries any force wishing to attack
fort adams from the land would have to
overtake the fortress first and in order
to do that men would have to cross the
large moat that surrounded it unlike
some moats this one wasn’t designed to
hold water instead the walls here were
littered with gun ports and anybody
climbing down to get access to the main
fortress would be cut to ribbons by
gunfire
so I’m going along in the center of the
moat I’m right between these massive
high walls oh there’s a super loud hi
hit that could be a coin or a big giant
collar button anything like that so I
drop down and dig through the thick lush
green grass we’re in the bottom of a
moat so this grass is pretty thick
oh there it is it’s a clip it’s an old
thirty-ought-six stripper clip look at
that there used to be five bullets that
stood right out of this the little
grooves at the end would slide right in
there and you’d load your gun and you
could shoot five shots all at once
before you had to reload somebody must
have been an up top shooting away maybe
practicing shooting out at the ocean
when they got done shooting they
probably took that empty clip and just
tossed it right off into the moat old
world war two or world war one lip
