Saving Lost Souls | Amish: Out of Order

because many of the ex-amish don’t speak
to their families and they’ve been told
they’re going to hell they’re targeted
by evangelical groups trying to save
them are you moseying Grich

Curtis do you have a minute that can
talk to you yeah let’s go fine and see
if I can’t find a private place
I’ve person came in contact with some of
the boys around Freeman Jonas and
Freeman gets up on the barstool and does
this I’ve seen a select few drinking
partying and they have a heart of
rebellion I just want to kind of warn
you there’s Evangel church’s around the
Amish communities that want to reach the
Amish and point them to Christ and I
just want to come to you as a mentor so
you’ll be ready for this you believe
they’re going to hell for the things
they’re doing you assume that they’re
sleeping with anything that walks and
that they’re drinking and partying every
weekend we’re me knowing them personally
they’re actually good kids
I can’t God is the ultimate judge I feel
like our church could recreate that
sense of community and love that the
Amish offer I’ve probably had 100 Amish
people come into my office here at work
trying to get in touch with these kids
trying to convince them to go back to
the Amish these kids have been judged
they’ve been shunned by their families
they are no longer accepted they’re
already hardened their calloused on the
whole religious aspect it is not going
to be as simple as walking up to one of
their doorsteps and say and follow me
the whole encounter is jarring I know
that there’s religious
troops targeting ex-amish but this is
too close to home I think these kids not
dealing with their families is what
leaves them vulnerable to the
evangelists
