I figured we’re gonna need to test our
pulley system before we finish our final
rocket so we’re gonna need a surrogate
rocket with the same weight hey you know
what would work we could take a couple
beer cans together yeah they all crunkle
done feel them that’ll be fine with me
sighs it was nowhere near beer 30 so I’m
surprised to see all the traps and rods
breaking out two beers already well
we’re gonna have some beer cans for a
rocket test problem in all the empty
ones rots got it all crinkled up so we
got a mate we need three empty ones
leave it to ROG to hand us some tomato
beer I don’t know where he found it but
it was horrible I hate tomato juice man
come on here boy is that nasty tomatoes
beard now pretty nasty making Rock gonna
help all the lizards and ROG hands are
crumpled up after we painstakingly
finished those tomato beers
I got Pete working on our tomato beer
cans surrogate rocket Pete what we need
to do is we need to build us a surrogate
rocket and we’re not gonna put an engine
in it which it’s going to use it to
practice how to hook those on there
right okay okay so we need a body and
these would be about right but we need
to make way about five pounds total
okay so we’re actually going to do the
surrogate of the final rocket wait yeah
okay for a project like this
everything’s got to be done in stages
and testing pretty much every step of
the way
it’s pretty tight and I think that’ll
work just fine
right now we’re gonna hoist our
slingshot up to about 30 feet and some
trees and test it this is gonna be a
pretty good test because we’ve got the
little balloons there where the big
where the balloons are going to go we
want to test the slingshot plus
counterweight idea before we try this
thing at 400 feet with the helium
balloons and everything so we’re using
some beer cans filled with sand to
represent the rocket and a bucket full
of junk as our counterweight we want to
see if it creates the same effect as a
rubber band thing that worries me about
the build it’s making sure this rocket
does not hit the pulley when it goes up
because that’s gonna you know destroy
the whole the whole purpose if this
thing hits right there
it’s not gonna do what we wanted to do
stuff he works being a Frenchman on
those thing yeah you do press down three
two one look out hey that worked just
exactly like what we wanted right we
drop to a five-gallon bucket full of
weight and it launched them for your
cans up about 15 feet above the wheel
look out
