Pitch Perfect | National Geographic

i’m about to show three passes by a
pitch perfect experiment okay like two
minutes of your time what’s that speaker
to speaker yes well done it goes into a
little amplifier there which boosts the
sound coming from my phone okay right
let me show you let me show you right so
if I put some sand in the top of this
right watch this right watch now do you
know what this is see one of these
before no no no it’s a speaker so inside
that is still all the coils and things
you get inside a speaker but instead of
that comb we’ve replaced it with a piece
of sheet steel alright so we can put
something on top of it so what I’m gonna
do is set a variety of tones down it
like this one okay after demonstrating
my tone maker and sprinkling some sand
on my perfectly flat speaker I’m left
with just one question so what do you
thinks gonna happen when we turn the
tone on through our steel sheets speaker
I think it’ll jump up just when you
change the tone okay so what do you
think is gonna happen I think some of it
will slide off the edges okay that makes
sense well you reckon actually think
it’s gonna make a pattern okay right
that’s we find out yeah I’d say so will
the sand jump up and down fall off the
plate make a pattern or none of the
above
