I think the reason why people enjoy
playing hockey outdoors is that’s how it
started I mean people used to grab
skates and they go out and they find
frozen ponds and lakes and they play get
the wind and the feel in your face again
your eyes blurry kind of reminds you a
little bit of how it used to be when
you’re a kid my father built the rink in
the backyard for a few years prior to
high school literally mornings before
school putting the skates on going to
skate the minute I got off the bus
getting all work done and staying out
there to the lights came on my and my
dad my parents used to make one did that
for about 12 or 15 years like that it
would flood it in the morning before I
got back home from school and at night
before going to bed so it was a lot of
work but it was a lot of fun as well my
favorite memories are the ones where I
grab four or five friends and we grab
some shovels and we’d go clear clear the
ranch and we’d we clear the ponds and
we’d spent two or two and a half three
hours shoveling snow just to play for an
hour played outdoors every winter with a
scene bunch of friends and
those are some of my most vivid hockey
members playing up north we say this in
sounds a little trite but it’s not so
good for us that the ice keeps melting
