Lt. General Flynn on His Leadership Style | American War Generals

I grew up in a family of nine right in
the middle big families don’t always get
along ours gets along pretty well and I
think right where I’m at I’ve always
kind of been the balancer you know and
just somebody in the middle that you
know you got to get along with everybody
and you got a again it’s like somebody’s
upset what are you upset about you know
let’s figure it out so I think it’s
important that I have I guess experience
so many things throughout my life and
then of course throughout the 32 years
I’ve been in the military that I find
I’m surprised by very little and I
learned a long long time ago growing up
that you know things are going to happen
bad things are going to happen and it’s
not that bad things happen it’s how you
respond to those bad things going into a
meeting or going into a an organization
it’s things are going to happen in this
organization it’s not we’re not going to
be judged by by what happened we’re
going to be judged by what do we do
about it did we stand our ground did we
do we develop new ideas new solutions
did we do we have better outcomes
whatever you know whatever it is and I
think that’s so true with everything
because stuff happens and it’s not it’s
not that that’s gonna happen I think
everybody realized that it’s what you do
about
