oh the pink dress the pink Chanel suit
we had to of course recreate the iconic
pink suit wearing that suit was
transformative for sure I mean as a
performer I can say that I I trusted it
was doing almost all the work for me
because it is so iconic I’m a Jackie
Kennedy fan and had spent a lot of time
studying photographs beforehand I was
quite concerned with finding the right
fabric it was exciting and and
challenging to find that fabric and I
looked all over New York it was an
authorized copy of a Chanel suit from
the 1961 line I think we were all pretty
happy to see Jennifer in the suit ah my
favorite I know the detail that I find
the most profound about the pink suit is
that the pink suit was JFK’s favorite of
all of her outfits so the fact that she
was wearing it in that moment um I find
to be haunting mrs. Kennedy
here in real life she refused to take it
off which is also a detail I don’t think
most people know she refused to take it
off I think almost 24 hours because his
blood was on it which I think may be one
of the more romantic and tragic ideas
and all the historic stories I’ve ever
heard we can get someone to bring you a
change of clothes from the plane no no I
want him to see what they’ve done to
